Poker will be it's main purpose. Anything can surf the net. I don't do other gaming, so no need for something over the top.
Needs to run:

P* for the PCF tourneys onlyIPad 2 here.
Pokerrrr 2 runs great. Bovada worked well when I played there.
No P*s for us in the U.S.
P* for the PCF tourneys only
I'd have to second this. Never been able to play via mobile on P*From what I remember, there wasn’t a way to access the home games section from the app. They do have leagues that you can host I believe
Can’t play P* home games currently. Unless you use VPN or something along those lines, but I have an iPad. Works great.P* for the PCF tourneys only
The tablet runs P*, but you can't access the "home games" section. So a tablet can't run desktop apps?
No to sound smartass, I really don't know.
Unless you’re going for something along the lines of a surface. I’m not even sure a Chromebook would work. Someone else may be able to verify that.So a tablet can't run desktop apps?

I bought a surface, it will only let you download MS Store apps. NONE of the programs I mentioned work.Unless you’re going for something along the lines of a surface. I’m not even sure a Chromebook would work. Someone else may be able to verify that.

I thought it would run Windows 10.I bought a surface, it will only let you download MS Store apps. NONE of the programs I mentioned work.
I have the 10 inch version - it works the same as any laptop. If you are trying to play on a mobile platform I would not recommend it as it has windows and not a mobile platform (android or crapple).@Azcat said he runs Pokerrrr on an iPad and he bought this (Windows based) tablet for $157 to play Poker Stars.

I don't think he's got it yet, so I don't think he can review it, but perhaps soon.
FWIW, I have a laptop with an Android emulator, so I can run P* and Pokerrrr on the same device, butnifbyiu don't have a touch screen, the Pokerrrr app's UI is clunky. Doable, but clunky.
If your surface won't run programs other than the MS Store apps, then you are on Windows 10S. You need to change that over to Windows 10 Pro. Follow this step by step process, it is free https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/upgrade-from-windows-10-sI bought a surface, it will only let you download MS Store apps. NONE of the programs I mentioned work.
Check your system setting to see what version of windows you are running - I have changed over A TON of these from Windows 10S (bad) to Windows 10 Pro (good) and it is free.Mine is an older s2. You CANNOT load anything that's not in the MS Store. Maybe a newer surface is what I need then.
He may find it slow - only 2GB of RAM if kind of pathetic. I got mine with the intention of running a cash register with itGood news for @Azcat, as he is looking to use it just for Poker Stars.
Challenge accepted. Going to bash my head against this problem with mobile devices will let you know if I find any success. You must use a PC or a Mac to run the P* software AND access the home games. You can't do this on a mobile device.
As the original post said, this thing is worthless for what I want. I'm looking for one device that will run all the pokers.OK you need a new device - the Surface RT runs an ARM processor (like your phone) and cannot run windows 10. Your device was designed to only run microsoft signed ARM compiled .exe files. It really is a bad device (sorry for the bad news - would you rather I lie to you?)
