A piece of "inside baseball" for you on those Aces that may cause you to love them even more. A few of my friends back in WA actually opened that place. I knew the owners and several of the dealers there. It was located in a place that you normally wouldn't think you'd find a casino at (more like a truck stop with a burger joint location). I don't think I've ever seen anyone in there who wasn't wearing camo and who didn't have a can a chew in their back right pocket, and if I'm wrong, it'd only be because they were left-handed.
You are absolutely correct that does make me love them even more!! Haha Merica!! Also I am right handed but keep my chew in my left pocket, but not my back pocket. Not really sure why anyone would want to sit on a metal can... doesn't really make sense to me! Honestly I know they are nothing amazing but they seriously were my first paulson love, the fact that Brie took the initiative and bough those 2 racks for me while I drug my feet debating sanity of spending $150 for a damn rack of chips ( I had to pay $3.50 for my $25s... and I know that is ridiculous but that's what it took to get people to let go of them!) Definitely on the lower end of the collection but also
@Marius L brought up a good point about variety... you hear it often round these parts,
THC or bust... but for me it is more about showing new chippers a variety of what is out there. You can have your favorite leaded
THC set, but also BCCs, scrowns, CPCs, yes even RHCs, hell we have 43mm sunflys that are growing on Brie now, I really think it would be quite boring to have all
THC chips that just look different but otherwise the same old thing over and over.
Also if you are into building Tourney sets I would recommend building them with different structures like Mr. And Mrs.
@Poker Zombie yes the majority of our local games are T10k, T25 based but why not change it up, build a high roller set, build a T5 based T2k set... keep it interesting, if you have a bunch of old guys that like meat and potatoes every day well that's ok too!! That again is what makes this hobby unique and fun, always keeps you coming back for more!
When I purchased the Siler Tounged Devil
CPC chips from
@Quicksilver-75 I was planning on remaking the T2k chip a 1k, in my mind these are meet up worthy chips but I wouldn't want them to be held back from play because of a slightly different structure. I have since played them a few times and also a good friend
@guyfleegman runs his Casablancas with a T2k lineup and I think it is amazing, a bit of variety that gives it that edge of something different, so when I expand the STDs down the road it will stay the same T2k structure that is was designed as.
I am going to change the plaques from T5k to T10k and then add a T50k as well... that enough but the point is do not get caught up in the greatest available, find what works for you and your group!!
