How about buying $25, $100, and $500 denominations to use as .25, $1 and $5 and divide by 100? Then your table will be filled with the chips used the scenes with Mikey and KGB instead of ones that you never saw in the movie!!!

I know what you're thinking: "My group of players are like chimps and can't do the maffs to divide by 100." No problem - just tell them to pretend the $ sign is a cents sign.

When I order, it will be a custom set. I ordered the Rounders set to have CPC chips in hand. This way I could feel them and see them before placing a $2000 order.

Seems reasonable to me. Get a nice set of chips to use while designing and waiting for full customs. I did this before my first set.

I have two custom Tina sets ordered.1000 Greek mold cash set for the Feb group buy and a 1100 Web mold tourney set for March group buy. Before learning about Tina sets, and finding this forum, I ordered 1700 semi custom Nevada Jacks from BR.

Not trying to derail the thread, I'm a new chipper and have been researching doing custom chips and Tina's seem to be a great option at a modest cost. Do you regret getting the Tina sets and wish you went to CPC right away? And if you don't mind quicky sharing your experience with designing and ordering the sets you have?

I haven’t received my Tina sets yet. The cash set was ordered in the February group buy, and the tournament set was ordered in the March group buy. Ordering was amazingly easy. @justincarothers makes the process simple, and answer all questions you might have. I did order many sample sets and the Greek mold is amazing. Early feedback is that the Web mold is amazing as well. I used an amazing graphic designer. @mattross1313. He designed both the cash and the tournament sets. He also designed a dealer button, and card protectors for me to give to the tournament winners. He was very fun to work with, and I will use him in the future for my CPC sets and other poker projects.

As for CPC chips, they’re not in my budget right now. $1250 all in for 2100 Tina chips. Around $4000 for 1400 CPC chips. Tina chips will do for now. BTW I highly recommend getting some Tina samples if you’re contemplating. The quality is unreal for only .50 a chip.

You need to get samples of both and decide which you like better.

If you like CPCs better, and you're like the most of us here, you'll end up buying them eventually.

That being said, generic Tina's (or generic CPCs/casino Paulsons if you have the budget) can be resold, and would make a good interim set until you take your time to design something meaningful to spend 1000s on.

I wish they never upgraded the spot pattern for $500 then went back down for 1k and 5k…. Makes no sense?
