It also depends on the continent you live on.
Modianos and Dal Negros (practically the same company now) are excellent, durable plastic cards with a nice papery feel, and, however unethical and crooked the bosses may be, you just can't beat them at $4 or 5 per deck (that's the price in Greece).
Furthermore, Modiano offers the only very nice quality 4-index jumbo cards I know of, while the acetate Modiano Platinum should be the best cards in the world, hands down (very expensive though, at $25 per deck, even in Europe).
I can likewise imagine of Ferrari's bosses refusing to honour their warranty on ceramic disc brakes (a $20,000 option) 'cause you race-tracked the car, as if Ferraris and ceramic brakes were supposed to have another use.
Fourniers and Piatniks have got excellent feel too (I 've read somewhere that plastic Piatniks are practically Fourniers too), but for some reason are either too hard to find or very expensive or both on any continent of this Earth
(with the possible exception of former Austro-Hungarian territory).
In the Americas, from what I 've read, Bicycle Prestige are a safe bet, while Designs look nice and everybody is happy with them.
Copags are too slippery, especially when new and KEMs, ...well back to square 1.
