4 of a Kind
All,
I hesitate to post this but @liftapint told me to “Just do it” so here goes.
My family on my wife’s side experienced a tragedy on December 10. While my Mother-in-law was picking up our niece and nephew from the rural bus stop they were all viciously attacked by four large Rottweilers who had escaped a fenced yard. My wife’s mother tried to protect the kids and gave her life in doing so. The kids were critically injured and life flighted to a hospital equipped to deal with their severe injuries. Zac’s (7 years old) injuries, while severe, were non life threatening. His sister Leah’s (9 years old) injuries were much worse. She underwent numerous surgeries to reconstruct her head and face as well as losing her left leg below the knee.
My Mother-in-law had just enough life insurance to cover the burial and pay off her bills so that’s settled but the kids have been in the PICU since the 10th and Leah still has a long road to recovery. Her father (wife’s brother) works for the state prison system and mother is employed by McDonalds and there is no way they can cover their mounting medical expenses and time lost from work while at the hospital. They also have three other children.
I’m asking that if you are so led and financially able please consider giving to help them out. Nothing is to small. I also ask if you have a Facebook account that you share their story so it reaches the most people.
I have a friend in the Masons who is helping sponsor Leah to be part of their wonderful program but the need is still there. Thank you so much for reading this and whether you give or not prayers are always welcome for their family.
THANK YOU, and thanks to those of you who have already donated. I’m humbled beyond words.
