Time for a cocktail! (8 Viewers)

Worked a 34.5 hour shift. @Mrs Poker Zombie made it better by having a martini ready when I got home. The extra time allowed her to get fancy with the lemon twist.

I looked at the website, they had a ice pig with Whistle Pig in the gallery but not for sale.
Christmas is soon!

We do a watermelon smash using almost those exact specs. Of course we use lemon juice instead of lime(or else it wouldn’t be a smash), 2.0oz of rye whiskey, mint leaves, and no muddling. I’ll have to try your version tonight at work

French 75
This is the gin version, the Cognac version is tasty also.

1.5 oz gin
0.75 oz lemon
0.75 oz simple(1:1)
Shake with ice
Strain in to magnum coupe(8 oz)
Top with *Champagne- I use Brut Spanish Cava as dry as I can get and high carbonation
Garnish with lemon twist

Real Champagne I just drink as is

Champagne Cocktail Night at The SteamTrain Depot!

This is a rift on the French 75 and Aviation cocktail.

The Bright Side of the Moon
(Imperial Aviation)
1 oz gin
0.75 oz Creme de Violette
0.5 Maraschino
0.75 lemon
0.25 simple(1:1)
Shake with ice strain in to magnum coupe
Top with bubbly Cava
Lemon twist

A lighter/summer version can be made by reducing to
0.5 Violette
0.25 Maraschino

Simple can be omitted for taste preferences

One last cocktail tonight!

Bitter French
(Fillmore at Death & Co. NYC)

1.0 oz gin
0.5 oz Campari
0.5 oz lemon
0.5 oz simple
Shake with ice
Strain in to flute
Top with bubbly
Grapefruit twist on rim and discard

I like to put discard twist/garnishes on the napkin but not necessary

Original had only 0.25 Campari

Only about 2.0 oz of Cava for this drink

Lived in NYC for 2 years, went there and others too many times!
Used to travel more also

Man that EC Small Batch is good stuff. Last night I had a couple OFs with Scrappy's Firewater bitters. Tasty!
My only experience with bourbon is Bulleit, Jim Beam, and Evan Williams. I liked Bulleit more than the other two. The EC is my favorite so far.

Definitely Bulleit and Elijah Craig are a nicer bourbon than both JB and EW, although I always have an handle of EW around for mixed drinks. My EC small batch bottle is a very sweet bourbon.

I also really like Buffalo Trace and Eagle Rare. Lots and lots of great bourbon out there!

Can’t remember if I have posted this one before

The Lion’s Tail

2 oz bourbon (or rye)
1/2 oz lime juice
1/2 oz Allspice liquor
1 teaspoon or so of simple syrup
1 dash of Angostura bitters

tastes like the holidays
