Over the past few months we've done some work on and off and managed to get the hot-stamp equipment working again. Still in the testing mode but hopefully will be ready to go sometime in the new year.
We've tested chips from a number of molds. Looks as though we will get good results on A-Crest, CSQ & HHR molds, although the available stamping area on HHR is small. Other molds (probably due to different clay densities caused at pressing) did not work well.
Setting up for hotstamping does take a while for any order, with different settings needed for different color clay for example. Therefore, we are likely to adopt a 2 or even 3 stage pricing model for them.
ie - a setup charge (either for the order or per color) and then a cost per chip, or, a setup charge for the order plus a charge per extra color and a cost per chip.
The individual charges won't necessarily be high, but will reflect the fact the same labor is required for a small order as for a large one. Consequently a small order of multiple colors may be at least as expensive as inlaid, but a large order will be cheaper.
We have a couple of alphabet sets, a numeral set and a denom set of dies. I will show images nearer the time.
Anything else can be custom made at cost.
