I don't know if there's any etiquette - I think Teddy KGB might be closer to the truth.
What's easiest to read? It's funny, in my head I was thinking stacked by denomination, but looking at your pictures, I'd say spread out but still grouped by denom is the easiest to read.

But a lot of people are funny about bets, whether they're afraid to give off tells or whether they're trying to create reverse tells, I'd give everybody the freedom to do what they want and not try to create a standard.

Clear view for all to see is the best way, unless something (e.g., a stack of 20 chips) makes organizing by denomination better.

Key thing is that people can see at a glance what you've bet and don't have to ask.

A single stack of multiple denominations is never the answer.

I typically stack and slide/spread a bet out as I push it in the pot if it includes multiple denoms, however you need an option for "stacking like chips in piles of 4-5". For instance, it seems like most bets in a .5/1 through $1/3 game are in multiples of $5s with some $1s added occasionally. For instance if I were betting $55 I'd put out two stacks of 5x$5s with a single chip on top, for $65 either 3 stacks of 4x$5s with a single on top or 2 stacks of 5$5s with 3 singles on top.

In home games I typically either verbalize if the bet is not obvious or clarify if asked. In a casino game the dealer should always break down and announce a bet to the table.

Verbalize then:
place bet in stack if chips are all the same denom
if stack is of different denoms then fan chips at the end so all are visible.

We usually stack, denoms together to easily count. It's up to the dealer to make sure the pot is right. So when we announce a bet, we state the amount "bet 200" or "raise to 400 total". Then set the stack bey8nd the betting line. As the players are going around folding, calling, raising, the dealer is checking stacks and counting, making sure the count is right. Everyone is held accountable for their audible bet. No one is allowed to say they only ment to bet the stack if their stack is short, they have to make it whole.

I think announcing your bet and then spreading out your chips so they’re clearly visible is best, but really I don’t care as long as you don’t splash the pot with my chips.

I summon my man servant, accept his bow with a nod, listen as he announces my intention, watch as he takes his white gloved hand and moves each chip individually across the betting line until I signal my approval.

Should he have the night off, I announce my bet and spread them.

Last time I was at the casino I assembled a three bet of 56€ using 5x €10 and 3x €2. I moved them over the betting line holding them as a stack and separating them behind the betting line placing the €2 chips to the left and €10 to the right for better visibility.

The guy to my right (who flatted the initial raise) loses his shit screaming "string bet! string bet!" and is being backed up by an omc arguing that my 3x €2 left my hand first and should only count as a call.

Seems like we‘ll have to watch your actions carefully in Stockholm…

Announce and spread in front of you, do not put in the pot until all bets for that street are over.

I stack, announce, and once the chips are placed, I'll spread at least one of the stacks forward so that they're visible.

For bets with few chips spread is my preference. Obviously if barrels of chips are involved then leave those stacked then spread the rest.

I have one guy in my game who does this kind of stuff. The pot is $25, and he’ll bet $9.25. Pisses me off a little.
I used to do that when I started playing. I thought I was clever. Confuse everybody. Now I never do.
Still, I see pros bet in odd amounts all the time. Not sure why, but they’re better than me, so shrug.

On the occasion I bet a stack that's more than say 4 or 5 of the same denom, I usually break it up into smaller stacks so it's easy to count. If it's something like 250 in 25s I'll make stacks of 100 and spread the remaining 50. Something like that.

I just grab a fistful of chips, drop the pile over the betting line, and let the dealer figure it out while I chug my beer.

I call it the CT-24-BI method (@CraigT78 24 beers in).
The dealers you direct must love you.

Spread out, always. Always be as considerate as possible. I figure it is the easiest way to count the chips as a dealer and when I deal I feel that way, personally.
