Mandy was communicative, very responsive, and pleasant to deal with.

Received my full set of chips yesterday. Packaging was decent. Have only checked a few of the chips so far, no major problems or issues yet (e.g. no broken chips, no warping, no flashing, etc). I’ve noticed some color variation, especially on the edges, and one or two chips so far with minor blemishes. Edge spots seem to be aligned properly. Printing looks pretty good overall.

Compared to some other ceramic chips:
Stacks of 12 – L to R, Nevada Jack skulls, Super Poker World chipcos, Mata Leao/Mandy chips (slightly taller)

20220907_165746.jpg

The edges of the Nevada Jack skulls are the glossiest and most polished/smooth, the Mandy chips are what I would call semi-glossy, and the SPW chipcos are basically matte. I couldn’t quite capture the differences on my cell phone camera and was too lazy to dig out something nicer in the mess of what I call an office.

The texture of the faces. The NJs and Mandy chips have visible “crosshatching” – I think the Mandy texturing is a little more pronounced/deeper than the NJs and the Mandy texturing extends closer to the edge of the chip. The SPW chipcos also have texturing but it’s not as visible – kinda like the NJ/Mandy are metal files and the chipcos are sandpaper (or fingernail file). By feel only, I can distinguish the NJs from the other two by the smoothness of the edges and I can tell the difference between chipcos and Mandys by the texturing. They all feel pretty good to me (I don’t like smooth/slippery chips).

From a quick look at the stacks on the table, the Mandy chips seem pretty uniform – thickness and diameter. Printing quality control seems decent – at the very least on par (or better) than the blemished custom ceramic plaques I got from BrProPoker awhile back. But, I haven’t checked my entire order yet (not sure when I’ll get around to that).

Couldn't get in on dmoney's cards mold group buy and didn't know when the next one might be so I ended up paying more $$... This "should" tide me over for a while... hopefully, haha

ETA - In case anyone was wondering, the colors are BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) ranks/belt colors (green is the highest rank for a student 15 years old and under - I included that just for an additional color). Mata Leao is "lion killer" in Portuguese, aka hadaka jime, aka rear naked strangle/choke. The Chinese characters are, top to bottom, zhi (wisdom), ren (humanity/benevolence), and yong (courage). The design in the middle is part of a larger personal logo - part gladiator helmet, part punisher skull, and with a sword in a diamond logo in the forehead.

How do they feel compared to BR Pro Poker chips? More slippery? Same sound? Any spinners? Just wondering if there's reason to order from them over the others. I can say right now, those edge spots are aligned very well.

These seem like a pretty good alternative to brpropoker. At the very least, you can’t beat that price point. I’ll have to add Mandy to my list of possible venders when I’m ready to pull the trigger on my own custom set.

I’ve used Mandy chips before. They’re super nice to work with! The *only* issue I found with their blanks is that they’re a tad thicker than Br Pro or Chipco, and the barrels don’t fit in all racks

My NJs are from BrPro. All 3 types (NJ, SPW, Mandy) feel about the same to me. In stacks of 12, the NJs feel the easiest to shuffle, then the Mandy, then the SPW (but I've been shuffling the NJs the most/longest so that might have something to do with that). Sound wise, dropping stacks of 12 vertically ("cascading"), the SPW and Mandy sound about the same and a pitch meter app measured them at around 6200 Hz (ballpark averaging); the NJs sounded a little lower/deeper and the app measured those around 5700 Hz (ballpark averaging). Rotating stacks of 12 to check for spinners, the NJs seem to have the most grip/least number of spinners, then the SPW and then the Mandy had more chips that were slippery against each other. That being said, when I checked a handful of the Mandy chips that spun against each other, I could not see any discernable gaps between pairs of chips and squeezing edges around the diameter did not reveal any wobbling or warpage (I personally don't feel that "spinnyness" is a significant problem with the Mandy chips but YMMV).

Price isn't too bad, service was good, turnaround time was pretty darn quick. I think Mandy is a valid option but I think you will definitely save some good $ if you can get in on a group buy (e.g. Tina/cards mold). I did not ask her about bulk order pricing though - maybe she can offer something similar?

So far, I've tried fitment in budget black plastic chip racks (the kind that come with 300/400 chip sets of dice chips), https://www.apachepokerchips.com/product/apache-poker-chip-rack/ , and https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09BK9LXRZ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details and they fit nicely in all 3 types.

ETA: Stopped by Discount Poker Shop earlier today. The Mandy chips fit perfectly in these racks (basically no play/slop, full barrel smooth in and out): https://www.discountpokershop.com/1...ack-fits-paulson-style-poker-chips-p-715.html
They also fit pretty good in these, but with just a little play/slop compared to the 68mm/paulson style racks: https://www.discountpokershop.com/100pc-casino-style-chip-rack-p-13.html
