Good afternoon from Denver (of the East) North Carolina. When it comes to chips and cards also for that matter I’m a novice. Over the last 10 or so years I’ve purchased 1,000 plus, mint never played, Paulson PCA, WTHC and Pharaoh NCV chips. #1 son was gifted the PCA’s and #2 son will be getting the WTHC. Dad is keeping the Pharaoh’s although my bride thinks I don’t need them. Each of us plays with WPT chips. The Paulson’s are just too prety and special! When I can I’ve promised #1 some $500 PCA’s to complete his chip set

That is a serious chip horde for someone new to the forum. Very few people buy so many chips in a set and such high end chips the first thing they buy. Grats! That is quite a haul.

Why do you not play with your nice chips? Isn't that the point of having them?
Looks like #1 son won't be playing tournaments until he gets some 500's. I see you've get the NCV Pharaohs for yourself - maximum versatility!
 
I guess you could argue that that’s the reason to have them but when I assembled my first set I saw them more like art. Yeah I’m strange. Once the boys expressed interest in poker I decided to get Paulson sets for each of them. Since the have WPT also don’t know when/if they will play the Paulsons

I'm interested in poker, too. Could you buy me a Paulson set, please? :D
 
Welcome! Nice WTHC setup. I use mine for tourneys and cash games. Looks like yours are set for both too.
 
WPTs do not belong with the rest of those sets.

Welcome, and stick around. You will learn about better breakdowns for your money, proper storage, and playing cards. In the meantime, you have clearly learned that moar chippes are better! :D

Welcome. I live right down the street in Cornelius. My parents have a house off of Unity Church Rd.

I won't play with half my sets. Mostly because no one I play with would give a damn bout the chips. (they like paulson's, and chips with denominations, but not really selective about which)

I like your sets a lot. WTHC is probably my favorite (or in the top 2) tournament set.
