Favorite Set of Cards to Play With (5 Viewers)

I have an older setup of Piatniks I kinda forgot I owned. They are not jumbo index but they are bridge with 4 pips. We used them a month or two ago and they are about as nice as it gets to me. I also think Gemaco Superflex is a wonderful setup.

I still think a perfectly flat deck of Kem cards is the ultimate, but also elusive.

Way back I picked up a set of kems at a garage sale. They were warped a little, so I thought a little heat might flatten them, so I ironed a few with low heat and a paper towel between them and the iron. (No steam)
Voila!!! It worked! So I took them back to the deck only to find they were about a 1/8 inch narrower and shorter than the others, and inconsistent among themselves as well.

You are probably in the only country on Earth where people can find and buy Piatniks on a non random basis.:)
Otherwise, impossible to find, except for random cases (and mostly ridiculous prices) on eBay and Amazon.
I already have a "1362" type deck (4 normal index, poker size - excellent feel) with a charcoal back and kept ordering the same with a green back on Amazon.de to have a set-up.
Seller kept sending me charcoal ones, and I kept returning them, requesting a green one, as pictured by the seller. Gave up after the third time.:banghead:

We have poatniks available as well. I can check the prices if you might be interested

Follow-up on the faded spade bridge. I dedicate deal with one other in my home game and after 12 hours we both agreed that the no texture among cards makes them stick. Wouldn't use again for long sessions. I do like the look of the cards though. Sill prefer desjgn and kem's.

Once u go bridge u never go back

time to spend more money.... faded spade just launched their version 2.0 cards and I've had a yearning to pick up a set of the bridge sized cards.

I have a really old deck of plastic KEM bridge sized cards however the entire deck is warped and will pop and flex like sheet metal when pushed in the middle from either side of the deck face/back.

Please let me know how they are I wanted to try the faded spades but there wasn’t great review on them, if this new V2 is great I’d likely switch from copags

I have a set of the v1 in poker size and the 4 color poker size, my group really loves them. They are slightly thicker than KEM but also have a noticeable texture and weight to them. Easy to shuffle and they slide across speed cloth like no tomorrow. Though, consider I own a set of older KEM from a decade ago, 2 sets of faded spade, it might be best to get some of the Desjn brand ones next.

I believe faded has the new set on sale right now plus there might be a 20% coupon out there.

UPDATE: Yep, the 20% coupon code 'WPT' works on the pre-order pricing which is already reduced from $24.99 to $21.99 for Thanksgiving.

IMHO it's KEM or nothing but I have never tried nor heard of Piatniks, so I will have to see if I can't find some and give them a try.

If I lived in Vancouver I would have already spent a good deal of my life in Tony's games:)

Me too but scheduling sort of interferes as I finish a 10hr work day then would have to, within an hour to game start time, drive 30mins or so through traffic to my house to freshen up and change then another 30mins to drive from my house to the game location. Would just be easier if I worked my old work schedule which was having Sundays to Tuesday's off. However, now I have Friday to Sunday's available instead and on practically every second Friday, I host a small game with my coworkers.

Like I said, next year, one day I'll find enough reasons that outweigh my excuses. :D

My preference is bridge size, normal index. IMO poker size is a little too big and a bit harder to deal overall. My preferred brand is COPAGs, they're pretty cheap and their quality is pretty good.

Nice! We have a few regular games going if you ever want to come and play. We have a good group of guys and gals.

Start an intro thread and tell us if you run your own game and post pics of any chip sets you might have

I think I created a thread! I'd love to join/host (I have a table!) Do y'all have a post or group?

I'm currently using this two decks, but like the copag a little bit more because it is a bit more flexible and easier to shuffle.

I'm looking to add new decks, but since I'm from Europe, the shipping from US shops (faded spade, desjgn, ect.) costs more than the decks. Is there any way to get those cards cheaper to EU, or some free shipping promo for BF/CM?
