Favorite Set of Cards to Play With (2 Viewers)

Dal Negro/NTP are my favorite cards but as others have said they are difficult to find.

My crew mostly plays with the Bicycle Prestige as they are cheap and readily available. It's a hard combo to beat.

Where do you folks get the Dal Negros? I've failed to find a good source for bridge sized cards with a quick Google.

Try eBay or create a classified on here. I’ve found a few this forum. I have a little collection of Italian goodness!

Brown box KEM circle backs or arrow. Can still be found randomly in lots on eBay every now and then.

I love Dal Negro as well, although I find the red/black ink differential to be a touch lacking in low light environments.

Yeah, you can try Amazon, too. Unfortunately, like many European manufacturers, sizes and back styles are limited, and they are expensive.
Gone are the days of the Hold’em Boom, when there was many resellers here in North America, there was more selection, and better prices.

Interested as to why as the Fournier/Congress & the Forunier 2826 are pretty much the exact same card just different branding. Or is it the 2826's that you don't like.

I know man, it's weird. I had the same conversation about those Congress with @abby99 in Minneapolis. It pains me to say what I did since I know a lot of people like them. I just don't. Also, I'm not sure they are exactly the same. I have a suspicion they are produced in different facilities, but I'm not sure obviously. OR, the storage of those were in a different place.

But this has been my experience: They do feel similar to other Fourniers BUT, all of them, and I mean 100% of the decks I've played with, whether at home or away, were bowed. And that bugs the crap out of me. I just hate it since it makes dealing unpleasant. I've played with many other Fournier and 0% was bowed.

Maybe I am just the un luckiest man on earth as far as Congress cards are concerned, LOL!!! But I'm talking many, many decks (and 100% of them) in poor shape.

That sucks, believe you, just wondered. And I've heard of quality issues from others as well but I've had 10+ setups in play and no bowing (all bought from the same seller on eBay). Maybe there was a large batch stored improperly. I bought a large batch of setups all at once (because they were $11-$13/setup) and it could be I'm the lucky man that got them from a good batch instead.

Come to think of it the first and only time I played with the Congress cards was at Jeff’s and I remember they were bowed. I was surprised by this because not too many cards besides Kem are likely to warp.

I'm another fan of the Copags. Seemed way too slippery when I first got them, though. Not sure if I got used to it or they just settled down after some play.
Also have a couple decks of Faded Spades haven't seen any play yet. As far as shuffling them goes they're like the exact opposite of the Copags, kind of annoying on a riffle.
We haven't played with paper cards, but I have a deck of Paulson Grand Pip casino cards on my desk that are fun to mess with when working. They're really thin though, not sure how they'd hold over time.

Cartamundi CCP can’t be beat for $8.50/setup. They are a little slicker but I like the cards to glide across the table.

I am surprised Dal Negro gets little love. They are amazing cards IMO.

They are just harder to find and a bit more expensive. At least it seems that way in the US. I've actually never handled a deck.

I love Dal Negro. I wish I bought more when they were more available. I believe Kardwell sells them but the shipping is fairly high. I would be interested in doing a mini group buy if there’s enough interest.

I really like playing with my 4-color Copag set (regular index, poker size), especially for Omaha, but not everybody in my group likes them. Some guys have a hard time seeing the blue and green on the board. Beyond those, I really like the Modiano Platinums (sorry everybody, had them long before I caught wind of the Desjgn dispute on here). I actually prefer those to Kems because in my experience Kems have had a problem with bowing over time.

I use KEM arrows, and I also have Copags (they smell weird)... Reading this thread I would like to try the Bicycle Prestige.

I have Modiano from Grand casino.. i like the cards a lot, and i have 2 sets of Copag cards (lone star narrow size and gold / black back wide size), Modiano would probably be the ones i like most.

There's just something classic about jumbo Copaq's. Desjgn looks really visually interesting but I can't see myself ordering them overseas.

for my games we have been using a couple decks of old KEM poker size jumbo index plastic cards that I've had for a decade. Just recently I acquired a couple decks of Faded Spade jumbo index in poker size and a couple decks of Faded Spade 4 color index in poker size. The jumbo index faded spades were an absolute hit over the previous KEM's at the last poker night.

Once u go bridge u never go back

Gt a set of desjgns a few months ago and have gotten them in play three times now. They are fantastic! Nice, firm plastic, but not too firm and not too slippery. I'm curious to see how they last. I used to use only Copags but they are very slippery and wound up all over the floor more than once, from newbies to the group who were not used to handling them.

I pretty much always end up using either my Piatniks or the new Desjgns, both poker size regular index.

You are probably in the only country on Earth where people can find and buy Piatniks on a non random basis.:)
Otherwise, impossible to find, except for random cases (and mostly ridiculous prices) on eBay and Amazon.
I already have a "1362" type deck (4 normal index, poker size - excellent feel) with a charcoal back and kept ordering the same with a green back on Amazon.de to have a set-up.
Seller kept sending me charcoal ones, and I kept returning them, requesting a green one, as pictured by the seller. Gave up after the third time.:banghead:
