MILL THEM ALL!
Haha! I knew I had seen that combo before. These have to be the most organic... gluten free, farm-to-table 5s ever made.
Yes@TheChipRoom if we order some used primary HSI will ypu combine shipping with items from the black friday sale
yes, I will updateHI Jim, @TheChipRoom , are there going to be limits on the individual IOC chips ?
I wouldn't say terrible. In fact, I think the dark blue 500s look great with the yellow. It's a distinctive look. I guess if there were just a little less yellow and a little more base color on the edges, i might like them a lot. What were they thinking with the yellow backgrounds for the edge writing on the Chipco WSOPs? I'd be interested in hearing other people's opinions on those. I don't think the faces are too bad, but the stacks look terrible because of the yellow edges IMO.
I agree that the Blue look best. I think that is because the blue compliments the yellow well. The problem is that the green and the brown don't go well with the yellow, and those chips are 2/3 of the set. I also agree that it would not look as bad if the amount of yellow on the edge was less.I wouldn't say terrible. In fact, I think the dark blue 500s look great with the yellow. The fact is (as far as I'm concerned) most ceramic chips have poop edges. In that context, these are fairly middle of the road - not great, not terrible.
I wonder if the lower denoms are mint. They certainly appear to be in pretty good condition.
So, for a tournament chip newbie like me, how do you run the tournament (starting stacks, blinds, etc.) with this awesome set?

Not enough 1ks for that.chip breakdown of stacks 12/12/5/6 for 10,000 in starting chips for 10 players with plenty of chips for rebuys and color ups
Not enough 1ks for that.
Yeah, these were probably used (or intended to be used) for 5K stacks, so they didn't need a lot of 1Ks per starting stack. From what I've seen, most of those circuit events have pretty short stacks. But there's no reason that can't be done at home - starting at 25/50, that's 100 big blinds. Start it at 25/25, that's 200 big blinds. Just move up gradually. Or have long levels.Noticed that after I posted
12/12/5/1/1
Suks not having more 1k they are normaly a workhorse chip
or as allforcharity said above
16/16/8/4
puts lots of 25's in play but you have the chips to color up, problem is ;ack of 1k for later color ups
As a newbie here what are peoples opinions on the use of snappers? And more specifically for this set since it uses .5 chip instead of a quarter. I'm also assuming the stakes to be .5/.5. Do many use them in cash games or do they just complicate things? Having the snappers might be very cool since they are a great looking chip but I may get more utility out of the the set that has more $5 chips. Having 200 fracs seems like overkill anyways.
I like them! I'll take what you don't wantThoughts on a replacement $5 for the IOC set? I can’t see myself using that $5
That makes sense. Since my games play super small if I do end up pulling the trigger on this i think the set with the prettiest colors may win. Since i don't need to worry about needing a lot of 5s and 25s would never get used.It ultimately comes down to your personal preference and how your game plays and your stakes. Some believe the less redundant denominations, the better, so it is easier to make decisions like counting pot-size quickly in a hand etc. This is why 4x-5x the previous denomination is popular in set breakdowns. Others just love more chips and variety, so they will welcome denominations like snappers, despite the denominations surrounding them potentially making them unnecessary. However, more to my very first point, maybe that is a very popular bet amount or workhorse chip in your own games. Maybe it will be. Or maybe you just love the chip and want to make it work; more power to you if so.
I am a newbie too though so maybe someone else can fill in some things I missed.
I really like the HSI primary 5Thoughts on a replacement $5 for the IOC set? I can’t see myself using that $5
Is it the yellowing that occurs on Light Pink? Not sure, there is some sort of film on them.
