WSOP China Clays (2 Viewers)

Ya this needs to happen for sure. I think I would personally prefer them on CCs but to be fair I've never handled ceramics. I could probably get on board with them lol

I'm waiting for samples of the sunfly iron bank hybrids and those could be one option and a GB we can do ourselves.

Otherwise if we wanted to go China Clay then Apache would be our best bet.

Still need to handle the sunflys but so far I'm really liking the CCs above everything else I've sampled.

Three observations based on recent events: we should do one very large GB and assume it won't be repeated for the same design/chips ever again; after a preliminary discussion in a thread regarding levels of interest, the details, design, etc., should be done via PM by a respectable and large group; when all is ready, a GB order thread should be opened up with a limited time of 1-2 weeks.

Has a group buy ever been considered for blank chips and let each buyer get their own labels? Maybe along the lines of colors similar to wsop?

Custom labels are expensive considering the price of the chip. But when the Majestics group buy was run, you could buy labels to pick your denoms. Now that would be great for something like this!

Maybe there could be a joint group buy for the labels?

As cool as that would be I just don't think it wold be too practical. It wouldn't be so much of a group buy as it would be just a bunch of people ordering labels. Everyone would have different designs. I think the most practical "custom" option would be blanks with the labels separate so people can label them as they please.

I'll just leave this here.

This set needs a nice orange chip like the Majestic 50c. I really love that chip. Maybe change the $25k to something in this color scheme?

I suppose then we get away from it being a WSOP replica set, but I am hoping for custom color denoms anway!!! Maybe add a 5c chip???

WISHLIST - orange, blue, yellow, green

The yellow and blue chips are great in the WSOP set. The green needs more vibrance IMO, and the set needs some porno orange!

BTW are the labels on the WSOP chips larger, like on the Pharoahs, or smaller, like on the Majestics/Milanos?

The look slightly larger than the Majestics/Milanos but not as heinously big as the Pharoahs. Are they inbetween or is it just the edgespots that make the larger label blend easier?

Blank chips were available for a couple of the large china clay purchases - CPS (WSOP replicas) and Majestic -- but neither of those were actually group buys. Both were for-profit ventures headed by PGI and Apache, respectively.
.
Other true group buys for chips have either been for printed ceramics (no labels at all) or compression clay chips, where the manufacturer refused to sell blanks. Only group buy I can think of was last year's ceramic hybrids, and blanks were available for it.

I think the set should be exactly as is. We need to add $5s, $1s and fracs and get it done quickly

5c, 25c, $1 and $5s and we're good to go! We could use and orange color for the 5c!

If we did want to organize a GB using a CC manufacturer, does anyone know where we would start?

One of my all-time favorite chip. I’ve always regretted not jumping in the GCOP group buy.

FWIW, I would be in for 2k minimum (3k if done well).

I have no interest in the chips if they are done on the Tower & Spear mold, nor if they are done with a faux mold on ceramics. I might consider a hybrid set, though.
