New Models of China Clays (1 Viewer)

I can't imagine someone removing such a well thought out and executed inlay but to each their own :wtf: Honestly, I haven't heard of anyone doing that with those chips buy i would imagine it would be very easy to do if someone wished to do so.
Nothing personal, just want different colours for different denominations to what was made :)

That’s also what i’m thinking too, if they’re anything like other economy chips shouldnt be too hard

Awwwww....look, it's the Olympus set i created and designed. That's only the second set i have seen in the wild. :cool

Hey there! I just bought a set of 1,000 and I love them. I have questions about the designs! I searched through the forum and I couldn't figure it out.

The $10 appears to be Hades, and not Poseidon, correct? Noted the bident (Hades' weapon, not the trident) and what appears to be the arms of 'souls' reaching up from the depths. Was this intentional?

And I can't quite nail down 50c, $500, and $5,000. Are these Hera, Demeter, and Hestia?

I'm just a liiiittle big of a Greek mythology dork so as I started my poker chip journey I fell in love with these. And if there is no Poseidon, Dionysus, etc., then I might have to commission a couple custom designs/denominations ;)

I designed them and I will check my notes and let u know. I don't remember off the top of my head.

These Olympus chips are on my short list that I'm considering for a step up from the ol dice chips. Think I need to just break down and order some samples for the 4 or 5 I'm considering.

Ive been running them for a weekly Thursday night tournament we run since August, they are a huge hit, all my players love them. Excellent chips for the money, waaaaay better than dice, don’t think, just do

yeah as an amateur, i cannot believe these chips are so great. i am very happy with them. they look super cool and i am impressed that each one has a different design. they SOUND terrific is my favorite part.

Thank you @Huskerchipper I'm looking forward to what you find! I might need to commission an Apollo and a Poseidon haha
Sorry it took so long but it's been a crazy busy week. Here is the original artwork

Here is another members guesses on what God is on what chip. He was correct on all of them.

Amazing! Great work @Huskerchipper!

If this ever gets revised it'd be amazing to have Poseidon on the blue $10. And we need that $25k for Hera. Might have to commission this idea in the future with those designs you already made for those gods!

I'll be sure to post photos of them in action.

Kind of lame that Poker Store didn't keep the 25k and bounty chips. I guess most retail customers don't really buy those. Same how those retail customers insist on getting 10s and 50s (presumably because USD is printed in them).

To the extent this was Poker Store's decision, I'm annoyed they only did 11 denominations! There are 12 gods of Olympus! (and Hades isn't one of them haha).

I was really bummed they didn't offer the Bounty. ALL of my tournaments have Bounties. That is also the only chips that i specifically matched the Greek God to = Hades. I thought that was quite fitting.

@Huskerchipper

I like the gods, but in Greek mythology I prefer the heroes, like:

Achilles Odysseus Ajax Diomedes Menelaus Agamemnon Hector Heracles Perseus Theseus Jason Orpheus...

if anyone is reading this and thinking about getting a set of olympus chips, just pull the trigger. they really are that good. i've had paulsons, other china clays like majestics and bank and these are better than majestics and bank chips in my opinion. really good feel and sound to them, and stack well.

i've made a thread for people to post pics of their olympus chips in!

I was impressed by the feel as well. Surprisingly 'grippy' compared to other chips in that price range. I have no stake/involvement with them (other than design) so this is a truly unbiased opinion. The biggest drawback to chips in this category is their slipperyness and these do indeed stand out in that category.

I have held zero hobbyist chips in my life (only dice chips and casino tables) and these feel incredible and now I'm thinking I simply hit the lottery with good taste haha.

So I don't even want to experiment with anything other than something like the Casa Mango custom chip guy when I have my own hosting room.

Then steer clear of here. I came in thinking Outlaws were all I needed, now here I am planning a future CPC set...

And here I thought the final chip designs were an homage to the PCF logo! I would've loved some of the original spot patterns, especially the higher denomination bear claws.

I think retail chips tend to pick a pattern and stick to it because its familiar to casual customers. Outlaws use 3TA18, Olympics use targets, Monte Carlos use Matsui crowns, etc. Its rare for a casual retail chip to vary the spot pattern. Even though Olympics are china clays, their price point puts them at the high end of casual chips.

Well yes, nothing compares to clay when it comes down to it. That is in a different category though.
