If everything in The Club House theme counts as a set then it is by far my largest money sink, but is still “reasonable” compared to what the “hot” sets go for now. Probably close to $10k total at this point.

I knew I was going to hate visiting this thread.
Probably around $12k for my CDI98 collection (approx 5200 chips) over last 4 years, including murdered stuff.
My CPC/MSK set $3400 or so for 800 chips and 140 plaques (recent). Kept myself to level 3 and 4 spots.

A shade over $10k for my 750ish chip Paulson murder set, which seems like madness now that I write that out.

Purchased this set below in about 3 parts for a total of around $1600ish.
Quickest and most recent set that I’ve acquired in 2 parts was this set for a total of about $1900ish.
There are some sets out there that over time could literally cost one their soul. I’ve fortunately kept my soul intact but if you truly want to know what the most someone has spent putting a set together is, talk to anyone who has spent YEARS putting together a set.
IMO, just whipping out some wad of cash all at once to purchase any set of chips for some set number isn’t all that impressive to me.
I don’t think one can truly appreciate a number until one puts more into it than just numbers.
If you want to look beyond NUMBERS for a moment, here’s a glimpse of that.

My ASM set cost me 3,000 14 years ago for the 2400 chips I have. Now I think it would be double that for the same chips.

The most valuable set I currently own is a set of Pharaohs, but I bought those before the prices went crazy. In terms of dollars I actually spent, my ASM/CPC custom set is in the $3K range with the original purchase plus add-ons, but that's for 2,000 chips. Again a lot of them were purchased from ASM before the prices went up.

About $80 or $90 on some used pharaohs club and casino China clays. Been using them for over 3 years now and they have been fantastic for my home games, for the price.
Now, I am out of college and making lots of money. Uh oh.

That price includes 2 add ons "not shown" shipped later.
Most people do not buy large expensive sets at one time! For example I have about $20k invested in this one... but took almost 3 years
About $8k in the quarters... but again over time
This one was actually built for about $6k and I consider more on the resonable side
And absolutely zero regrets! Easily one of my favorites!

You guys got into this just before me and I have to admit, I fell way off pace. I’ve barely scratched 10K chips total. Absolutely incredible chips acquired at what I’d say to be an incredible pace. Scariest part is you don’t seem to be slowing at all! Given that IG purchase. Congratulations brother!
