What video games are you playing? (33 Viewers)

I’m a few days into Assassins Creed Shadows. I’ve like all the games in the AC series. This one seems absolutely huge.

Still working on Blue Price. But I also just got Expedition 33 and it's pretty incredible.

20+ hours into Blue Prince. It still feels like I have a lot to uncover. I have rolled the credits, but that is hardly the end. I've never really given a ton of thought to what my favorite video game of all time is, but this one is making a run at the title.

i enjoyed it for a while, rolled the credits, but realized that is maybe 15% of the game. i don't have the time or patience to work through the rest, but i've been watching a streamer play it in the background. pretty brilliant game design.

made me want to scratch the ouzzle itch so i'm playing lorelei and the laser eye now. pretty cool so far, about 33% in.

This year had been pretty great for games so far. Split Fiction, Blue Price, and Expedition 33. I've heard Kingdom Come 2 is good too. And here's to hoping Mario Kart World and Metroid Prime 4 are excellent.

Silksong is finally supposed to be coming out too, if MVs are up your alley.

though of everything, i am probably most looking forward to the Lies of P DLC.

Playing Stellaris on Grand Admiral difficulty, with all advanced AI starts and 25x on all three end-game crisis factions.

Somehow inadvertently created the sorting hat from Hogwarts with my empires borders

Anyone playing X4: Foundations? Considering picking that up.

It's an older game. I played either it or X3, I can't recall.

It was pretty cool, lots of options on being a bounty hunter, trader, opening space mining operations, etc

You could also build and equip your own fleet of ships, but I remember they weren't very competemt on their own, so all the credits invested could be at risk

Ultimately, it was a cool diversion, but overall felt there wasn't a ton to keep me invested in the gameworld.

Similar to Bethesda games like Fallout, there would be interesting one-off set pieces, the desire to explore just one more system, etc.

But in the end it all wound up feeling hollow/shallow for me.

Looks like they've done a recent overhaul to the game, pretty cool that so many years later they're still working on it, and I imagine there's a solid modding community as well.

But kinda crazy to be asking $50 for a 7-year old game I think

Any Warzone players here?

Years ago. Stopped playing cause too many aimbotters and wallhacking got ridiculous.

I was always big into Battlefield 3 and 4 cause I could hop into a tank or chopper or jet and not have to deal with idiot bunny hoppers dodging my bullets while they jump through the air, do a 360 and one-shot me at point blank range with a sniper rifle and scope.

My K/D ratio was never impressive, a bit over 1:1. But my W/L ratio was in the top 1% in the world for large conquest maps, cause I knew the flow of battle, knew which flags were most important to hold, what would be undefended when and didn't play for my personal score, but to actually win that map (fuck them useless snipers btw)

Cliffs: Not anymore lol

If I decide to pick it up I’ll wait for a steam sale.

I can totally relate. I used to play a lot of Warzone during the 2020 lockdown and absolutely loved it. At my peak I had around a 1.60 K/D, nothing sweaty, but I was holding my own. Then the cheaters started flooding in and really ruined the game. When they added that new trash map I tapped out.

They did bring Verdansk back recently and it’s actually pretty fun! Still a good number of cheaters though.

Battlefield’s great too, I’ve logged about 100 hours in 2042. The gameplay is kind of meh, but the maps are awesome. I’m still a BF noob lol.

So I had grown up playing Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Vietnam, etc. I put a TON of hours into BF3 and BF4. Then one day, I wind up kicked and discover I'm perma-banned by PunkBuster.

I had never cheated (my unimpressive K/D ratio would attest to that) and had played for years without issue. Best I could gather was that a recent upgrade to my system where I added some RGB fans or lights of some sort, others who were using the software that controls those lights were finding themselves banned by Punkbuster as well.

So I went through their appeal process, and it took them 2 weeks to tell me that they couldn't tell me what cheat I was accused of using, but that I was shit out of luck, my ban was staying and the only way I could play again would be to buy new fucking copies of the games.

I wound up not supporting or ever playing BF1 or BF5 (although i don't even think they had punkbuster) cause I was pissed after YEARS that had happened and I had zero fucking recourse.

Then when BF2042 was on the horizon I was excited, paid to get the EA yearly pass for $99 so I could play it plus whatever else, and at launch it was absolute fucking trash, I don't know how they screwed it up so bad.

I haven't returned.

"Punkbuster!" It took reading your mention of it for me remember that at all, but I do now.

What you describe happened to one of my buddies as well. He wasn't cheating and it nailed him for some reason. I seem to remember that he tried contacting various entities or PB powers-that-be but nothing worked. He quit the game and we moved on to something else.

That’s a crazy story I can’t believe that happened. Such a shitty situation I’d be furious too.

And yeah BF2042 had so much hype but totally flopped in the end.
