When I initially launched my channel I was going with the whole Poker Jeezus theme, which I rebranded maybe about a year back to Anthony Martino Poker Vlog.
However, because I've shared online poker content and ads, youtube has sometimes hit me with the 18+ age restricted content or even strikes (I got them removed, but still)
While my thumbnail game has improved and I'm seeing better click through rates and average view durations, I've seen a significant drop in my long-form content views, anywhere between 40-70% less views despite my CTR and AVD being strong.
I've spoken with other creators in poker and also researched other people on youtube who aren't in poker experiencing similar drops in their long-form content over the past 6 or so months.
Some of it has to do with youtube no longer counting views from those using ad blockers. Some of it has to do with youtube reducing the slots for recommended videos on the homepage so your content is fighting for less spots to be pushed by the site. Some has to do with youtube trying to compete with instagram and tik tok in the shorts department and favoring that style of content.
Whatever the case, I feel like my existing channel is being weighed down by the algorithm and not being shown to a wider audience, with a large part of that being the online gaming and ads I've done on the channel.
So, I've been looking at potentially starting a new channel to get a fresh start without the baggage youtube may view my existing channel with.
I wanted to lean into my narration/voice style since I have received compliments on it in the past, so was looking at Golden Voice Gaming. It would allow me to also be pushed to a wider audience since it's not pigeonholing me into poker, in case I want to pivot and include other gaming content outside of poker in the future (video games, casino games, etc)
But Golden Voice Gaming, Golden Voice Gamer and Radio Poker were all unavailable.
I managed to lock down:
Radio Voice Gaming (in a world where everyone is leaning into AI voiceovers, people can appreciate an authentic voice that isn't low-effort slop)
Golden Voice Gaming (but using @GoldenVoiceLive since @GoldenVoiceGaming is already taken by a channel that hasn't uploaded in a year and typically saw under 30 views on their content)
I'm trying to see what you guys think works best or if you have other ideas?
