Howdy folks,

Long time lurker first time poster, as im sure most of my uk brethren can empathise with my struggles in looking to source a decent set of chips as from what i can tell the uk has a huge gap in the market when it comes to chips for the most part were limited to either dice chips or ABS slugs.

What im looking for, clay chips in line with milanos/majestics 1000pieces

Can anyone help?
 
It may not be cheap but if your looking for majestic type chips Apache says they will ship to UK on their site.

Your other option is to poke around the classifieds and see if someone will ship to UK, or put in a wanted add and see if someone from your side of the pond has what you need.

At this point willing to settle for desert hear/bluff canyon/ clay smith stuff. But not a fannof ceramics over all got some skyline samples from poker merchant and can already see the laquer coating coming of the majestic samples i got where superb tho
 
There are a bunch of UK/EU chippers on this forum, so If you don't want to pay the premium shipping from the USA you should get a few more posts under your belt so you have access to the classifieds and put out a wanted add for exactly what you want and see if anyone can hook you up. Generally speaking people are pretty helpful around here and if someone has what your looking for you should be all set. Also, you are correct in that the China clays offered by Apache are a better product than the clay smith gamming chips you mentioned.

TLDR; I'm considering selling my RHCs. PM me if interested...

If not, you're right, junk over this side of the pond, importing costs are approx 25% unless you find a reshipper...

Best bet is to search the classifieds and wait for something local to pop up, or buy from a chipper who doesn't mind "helping" with the customs bill.

EDIT: Why 1000 chips? What's the breakdown? What games do you play/host?
 
@London24 is buying a bunch of my stuff to resell that side of the pond.
He's having some chips sent to me also to send along with the order.
Maybe talk to him if he knows of any sets for sale?

1000 chips we usually have two 8 handed cash games 5/10p blinds 200bb usual starting stack match stack after first 2 hrs

Hey - in a similar position (uk based looking for a decent set of chips - initially interested in china clays though now leaning more toward a custom web mold from tina/alibaba) and wondering what path you eventually chose to go down? If indeed you have made a purchase yet?
 
Havnt made the purchase yet but i reckon based on the great help from a few people here going to go down the custom tina web molds by choosing a predesign chip colours from @justincarothers and sorting out my own inlays i reckon this is going to be the only option from here on out unless we get CCs on a local uk market

Interesting! Are you getting samples? I know its the standard advice and I feel like its potentially a stupid move to ignore this but for UK based buyers the shipping costs and additional wait time make it seem less viable. I'm basically just trusting to the consensus that the new ceramic hybrids are very decent chips and going straight for it.

I have considered going through Justin as everyone on here clearly rates his services very highly, but as a UK buyer I thought it might be a fair bit quicker to go directly to Tina (you only have to wait for the chips to ship CN-UK rather than CN-US-UK) and probably a similar price (though in fairness I don't know exactly how the costs break down - @justincarothers I'll dm you once I have enough posts under my belt).

Thank you for sharing! I did look into the majestics from there but I've been put off the idea of china clays by whole "CCs smell bad" discourse.

I know that it's subject to debate and that questions like this are best resolved by getting samples - but for the reasons I shared above I don't feel like samples are a viable option for me. I'm sure that the smell thing is overblown but for a similar price I can get fully custom hybrid ceramics from alibaba/tina with no smell whatsoever. And even if I did get samples and the smell didn't bother me at all (which is highly likely as many people seem really happy with their CCs) the set is for a regular cash game I play with around 6 friends and I don't want to risk someone else in the group finding the chips to be offputting in terms of their smell.

I have a number of samples arriving from the states soon and will be selling off whatever I don't need once I make my decision, PM me if you're interested
