OK gang the group buy chips finally showed up. There were more than expected and the price changed some. Basically, to get more sets together I purchased another big set holders chips at a somewhat larger price. By merging the sale I was able to get more 100s which are getting scarce, Spinetti's is selling them for $7 each.

Liftapint originally got me started down this path about doing a full buy out several months ago, so I gave her first shot. She picked up a lot of chips from the group buy. I'll let her go over those details if she wants to share them. I built my set out from my personal chips and added some to the group buy to make some additional playable sets for this group buy.

Here is the breakdown of the sets. There are 5 sets available. Here is the breakdown

Ones 100
Fives 200
twenty-fives 80
Hundo 20

Total 400 Chips for $805 shipped CONUS. That's $1.86 per chip!

Since the interest thread took a sharp right into the wall I've changing the way people qualify for chips. To give more people a chance to see this ad, and express interest, I'll be doing a lottery system. All potential buyers will get a number. Sunday I will randomize all the numbers and the five sets will be assigned to the top five randomized numbers.

Here is how itawill work...

If you would like a set please do the following:

1. Post "Give me a number" or something similar.
2. You will get a number.
3. Be prepared to complete the sale by PayPal by Tuesday Dec 1st. If your number is selected

Condition of the chips

The $1s very from used to very good condition.

Some of these chips have wrinkles in the inlay. I'd say it's about 15% of them. It's as if a batch didn't get fused correctly. They don't seem to be at risk for coming off. Some have gone through an ultrasonic bath and agitation process and none have come off.

All the chips in this group of photos have the wrinkle. Only the 1s have any wrinkle.

The Fives have considerable casino wear and are pretty dirty. They fit 21 to a rack.

Twenty-Fives have seen some play but are in some good condition.

Hundos are great and have lots of '60s dust.

I've taken a lot of these chips to @courage to be ultrasonically cleaned and oiled. The results are FANTASTIC. I sent him the most roached out rack of 5s I could find and some blacks to clean up. He will clean, oil and ship your chips $100. If you get the Courage Clean package I will take your set down to him and he will ship the chips to you. This will save you round trip shipping charge.

Please give me a number. Thanks for the chance!

More like '70s dust since they weren't around until 72 :D
Put me in for 3 more numbers (5 numbers total).. I assume 5 is the max numbers you can have since there are 5 sets.
If not, put me in for numbers 1,2 and 5 to infinity ;)

Good catch. I'm thinking first editions. You are correct max number of sets to get numbers.

You are number 5 also!

I hate to be the one to rain on softchewy's parade, but do you realize how absurdly unfair this is?

You're not just giving him a better chance at winning two sets -- you're giving him five times the chance of winning one set over anyone else who doesn't ask for multiple numbers.

If you decide you want to allow each person to win more than one set, all you have to do is draw five numbers *with replacement* -- that is, recording each winning number as you pull it, and then replacing that number in the pool for the next drawing.

The way it is, anyone who doesn't ask for five numbers is a fool.

So sure, please give me five numbers.

Capping at one number per person makes this a fair lottery. As Larry mentioned, if he or she has interest in more than one set, drop their same number back in the pool. This makes it level.

Totally agree.

If you are interested in more than one set, your number will be replaced to win another set if it is drawn.

Please standby for reordering. I will update the OP with the correct numbers. I will list how many sets you are interested next to your number.

Except you'd be on the hook for five sets if you happen to win them all. Still noted, replacement is much better.

So, how many sets do you want?

That's what my thought was.. so I guess if this has switched, then I would be #1 interested in 5 sets.

Thanks for reconsidering the rules.

I'd like to have multiple sets, but my personal feeling is that that would be unfair to the PCF community of bidders if one person got more than one set. I'd feel guilty if it was me. I'm greedy, but not that greedy.

So please just leave me entered for one set.

My apologies @H|Q but I am going to have to back out of this buy. I have other priorities going on. Since you have 5+ commitments for the 5 sets, I don't pose this should be a problem. This increased others chances of gaining a set. Thanks for the opportunity H|Q!

Understood. I'll give your spot away.

I'll go ahead and take his spot; I'd kick myself later if I don't at least don't give it a shot. Thanks!

Good luck Dan! Hope my number is lucky for you. @<$2 a chip for trops it's a no brainer. I know I'll have regrets later if my number comes up, but it's just not meant for me right now.

Thanks again H|Q.

I just had a request via PM to even out the wrinkled inlay chips so that every set had the same amount of wrinkled 1 dollar chips.

I'm not really interested in going through them to make sure that all of them are evenly distributed.

It's going to be luck of the draw.
