Beginning to look like more blanks will be purchased (along with separate labels) than actual labeled chips...... meaning the biggest volume discount may apply to blanks rather than to factory-labeled chips.

still can go cash chips with tourney labels, right?

what about mixing cash and tourney?

Would it be easier/cheaper to order them as blanks and then label myself or would the labels have a separate cost?

I think this is what I want:

Blank chips will probably be 12¢ cheaper, but label cost would be extra. Depending on what kind of label your getting, they will be around 15-16¢ per label + any artwork fees. (Note: Each chip requires 2 labels so around 32¢/chip)

I'm guessing that factory labels will ne about half the cost of aftermarket labels.

Sun-Fly typically will only do matte-finish labels on orders larger than 5,000 chips (otherwise you get glossy finish). Dunno how that equates to their policy regarding blanks and separate label quantities, but I do know that blanks don't count towards labeled chip discount quantities.

Sounds like it shouldn't be an issue with all the interest, but I have to withdraw mine. Planning both another custom set coming up, so I think I'm gonna limit my chip purchases to just that this the rest of this year if possible.

Green - 25
Black - 100
Pink - 500
Orange - 1000
Blue - 5000
Red - 25000

This is what I'd be looking at for a tourney set. I don't know how to put the re-arrange the labels to see a picture of the progression, but I think this is the winner for me. Grey and Yellow chips didn't do it for me, and I have no need for a 5 or 10k.

Are the colors this vibrant in real life? I'll have to see if I can find pictures of previous buys.

Ok, so looking at some pictures, I'm a little confused. There's a lot of pictures of plastic BJ chips, that's not what we are getting right? This group buy is for ceramic chips, correct?

Here are a few pics of past hybrid projects -- these are all Sun-Fly Polyinno ceramic blanks with a center recess. Dye-sublimation printed on the faces and edges, with a laminated high-resolution printed label affixed in the recess. Some designs mimic Bud Jones plastic chips, others mimic Paulson clay chips..... but they are all ceramic hybrids. :)

Yep - those, and some of the Silver Club chips. Sun-Fly does a great job these days with edge-spot alignment to the chip face.

What are the options to find 43mm racks? I wasn't clear if the chipco racks ABC picked up are 43s, are they?

@p5woody could you guesstimate a cost for the set above? https://www.pokerchipforum.com/thre...p-casino-gb-interest.28934/page-4#post-538616

250 x 25 - cash chip
250 x 100 - cash chip
125 x 500 - cash chip
150 x 1000 - different color cash chip
50 x 5000 - different color tourney chip
25 x 25000 - different color tourney chip

Just seeing if it's cost prohibitive to be custom or not.

Sorry if this is confusing, I can try to explain better if need be. I linked my previous post so you can see what I mean.

The ones in the "what's on the pallet" thread were 39mm ChipCo racks but I believe Gene said he also has some 43mm racks too. The 43mm ChipCo racks have the 4 suits on them.

The estimate is 70¢ per chip with a label, it doesn't matter how you mix and match. Assuming all your chips are labelled (850 x .7) = $595 (This includes shipping from China, but does not include shipping from the GB shipper). If you go with blank chips it would be 12¢/chip cheaper. Does this answer your question?

I think so. Just wanted to make sure I understand. Any chip with any label is .70/chip, not including art fee .02/chip and reshipping. I was worried that trying to mix and match was going to cause the price to jump up to where it didn't make sense to get anything other than base.

I appreciate the work yourself and everyone else that is helping with the GB put in! This is my first one so I feel like I ask a lot of redundant questions so thank you for taking the time to explain things to me! I know this is a "cheap" buy for most but this will be the most I've ever spent on poker chips so I want to get it right!

As far as I understand it, this applies only to a chip with its default label.

Let's say you want the yellow cash game chip. This will be 70c with its regular $20 label, but 90c with any other label (58c for the blank chip + 2 x 16c for the labels).

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought we were going with Option 2 (see post #53).

The 70¢ includes the art fee. The only extra cost is shipping to you once they get to the USA. Remember these are estimates but I expect them to be pretty close.

Lets try to explain it this way:
Yellow Cash chip with $20 label is 70¢, it will come ready to play.
Yellow Cash chip with $25 label is 70¢ , However you will need to apply the label yourself once they are received.
Yellow Cash chip with no label is 58¢ but then you would need to add your own label outside of the GB.

I’ve been wondering this too, thank you for making it clear.

Interesting, I'm not saying you are wrong, but I believe Sunfly did label swaps (for instance the $25 label on the $20 yellow chip as mentioned) for no additional cost and it came applied during the OWPS buy. Unless Sal or Gene did the relabel work? Maybe @ABC Gifts and Awards can shed light.
