So I just got my first set of customs, and I've definitely gotten the bug. It's had me playing around in the Chip Design tool. These chips are a long, long way off and are probably going to go through tons of revisions while I try to save the ridiculous sums of money I'd spend on these. But thought I'd share my progress so far. The inlay is awful, but I suck at Photoshop and it's just a placeholder for now.

I've always loved Batman movies and comics since I was younger, so I was trying to come up with an idea that would work well for that, but without infringing on any copyrights. I came up with the idea while playing around in Arkham City on yet another playthrough, and saw the sign for the Gotham Casino. This might be my best chance at avoiding copyright issues. Color sets are based on classic characters from the comics and movies.

This is probably going to end up being a tourney set, which might rule out some colors depending on what I go with. But the full idea is below.

White - T 1.00 - Based on Harley Quinn as she appears in Arkham City games (https://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.ne...am_city.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20140423183539)

Red - T 5.00 - Based on Damian Wayne as Robin from the comics ( https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/7/7d/Damian-Wayne.jpg/250px-Damian-Wayne.jpg)

Green - T 25.00 - Based on the Riddler as he appears in the comics ( https://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.ne..._Teaser.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20130702212323)

Black - T 100.00 - Based on the classic batman logo. ( https://seeklogo.com/images/B/Batman-logo-F8295E46F2-seeklogo.com.png)

Purple - T 500.00 - Based on the Jokes as he appears in the Killing Joke ( https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/53/Jokerkillingjoke.png)

Blue - T 1K - Based on Mr. Freeze from the New 52 comics ( https://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.ne..._New_52.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20120523170930)

Orange - T 5K - Personally my least favorite, but based off of Deathstroke from the comic book suit. ( http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net...oke_002.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20051109230612)

Black and White - 1/2 Pie Bounty Chip - Based on Two-Face from basically anything you see him in.

I think it is a fun idea especially if it is subtle like the way you are doing it. 'Gotham" is not a copyrightable name so you're fine there. For 5K maybe try a Bane color scheme or Batgirl from the 60s TV show.

Holy great ideas, Leebert!

I'm a bit shocked no one has done anything with this theme yet.

"The Bat Cave" would be an amazing "casino name," and the B mold would be a perfect fit for it.

You could do quite a bit with the theme in general. I'm not a copyright expert, but you could do a lot with images and colors to hit the theme (Powww!) exactly right.

My favorite part of PCF is seeing these ideas turn into reality, and the creativity involved.

I can't wait to see how these progress!

I like the concept. I would also consider something less obvious for the name -- maybe a casino or card room that would be run by Cobblepot or Black Mask or something.

Great part is the Batman mythos is pretty deep with a lot of fun connections/references throughout. Some fun potential with this idea!

Jokers steak house and casino
"W" enterprise
Gotham Club
BW casino
Back ally card room
Rose Casino
Pearl Palace

Holy Casino
Holy Card room (Batman)
HAHAHAHA Casino
Bat Sh$# Crazy Card room

Had this idea when I first joined the forum, then decided that without complex spots, the bat logo or images of characters for the inlays, it just wasn't enough for me to do custom.

Agree with WedgeRock on the Two-Face chip.

The Deathstroke chip is the best, IMO.

Hoping you expand to include more cash and tourney denoms.

I might make the Two-Face my $1 and do a Catwoman or Nightwing hundo. Might go with a red spot on the Mr Freeze chip to represent his lenses, then go with that darker blue or another shade of blue for a Nightwing spot on a black base.

Cover all the Robins and do a Red Hood chip too. Lots of red, but could still be pretty awesome.

Rotate 1/2 pie 90 degrees, IMO. Fits the Two-face theme better.

Agree with this. Looks much better tilted that way.

Just to touch on a few other things... Thought about doing a Bane colour scheme, but other than his skin colour, he's basically black and white. Just seems like it'd be tough to work into somewhere, since I really don't want to replace the Black and Yellow batman chip.

Expanding to do cash and tourney is definitely a possibility. Other characters / colour combinations that I've been considering.

- Brown and Orange / Yellow for Scarecrow.
- Some kind of Grey with White and Black for Alfred Pennyworth
- Pink and White for Professor Pyg
- Lavender for Classic Catwoman, although I hesitate with this because I like the Joker chip and Catwoman is probably more notable for the all-black leather that she wears in the modern comics and TV shows.

In terms of what @Ellasdaddy said I was playing with colour shades in Photoshop and with the different iterations of Robin, you could basically have your own decent cash set. Black Nightwing for Dick Grayson, Grey with Black and Red for Jason Todd as Red Hood, Yellow with Black and Red for Tim Drake as Red Robin, Green with Yellow and Red for Stephanie Brown, Red with Yellow and Green for Damien and you've basically got a "Robin Lounge" set

I would ask to see if you can use said images. Usually if it's not for resale purposes they give you the ok. Now as for who ask, probably someone in the legal or copyright department at DC?

This set is getting progressively more and more expensive I believe. That Robin chip looks fantastic.

Other names that have come up as I've done some searching if I was going to change from Casino Gotham...

My Alibi is a bar in the mythos that comes up a lot. They seem like the kind of shady place to have a back room poker game.

Also the Amusement Mile from the Arkham Games is where a lot of the circus and amusement park stuff resides, which could be a cool theme for the inlays.

I also really love that robin quarter pie chip, that and then batman chip in particular.

The 1/4 pie does take you from L3 where you started to L4 for that one, but L3 has a ton of options to mix it up and there are some good L2s to maybe offset getting the one L4

This didn't work for all of them but the Harley looks good with 4a12 instead of 4a14

Thanks arch3r. Totally missed this thread.

I had some similar ideas myself for a Paulson relabel set. Ultimately narrowed it down to two possible set ideas:

1) a cash game set based on a fictitious Arkham Casino; and
2) a tournament set where each chip would feature a different villain and the label would look sort of like a WANTED poster, with the denomination of the chip under REWARD.

I decided to start off with the cash game set. P5woody made some awesome labels for me and I'm about to order them from Gear.

The are a ton of possibilities in the batman universe. I'm anxious to see what you end up doing. Definitely in for a sample set.

Just tossing around some more ideas. This is basically getting out of control, I've got way too many ideas and no real idea on how to narrow things down. Luckily I'm a long way away from being able to purchase these.

Black - Bane from Secret Six timelines. Thought about including some green for the Venom, but with this looks like his mask from his Animated Series versions.

Dark Brown - Scarecrow with the Dark Red glowing eyes.

White with Red - Deadshot mask with the single red optical eye.

Light Brown with Dark brown spots - Clayface lol

Dayglo Green - Poison Ivy with the orange hair.

Pink - Professor Pyg.

Also, came up with an idea for the inlay. FALCONE'S with a rose, based on a bar owned by Carmine "The Roman" Falcone. Going to see how well I can put something together with my crappy photoshop skills. (https://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/14/149570/3842113-falcone_sketch2.0_lo.jpg )

I like all but clay face. The two browns are to close together. It would most likely cause problems on the felt

I'm not really a fan of Batman or comics in general, but because there is obviously a passion for the subject matter (by the OP and those popping it with ideas), I am following this thread with interest.
