Taking a stab at a design for a CPC set. The inspiration is general Louisiana and also a bit specific to Baton Rouge.

12/19/2022 - Decided on theme "Bon Temps Jouer" as a play on "Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler"
12/20/2022 - Sent order counts to CPC! FDL expected to run in about 6 months.

Inspiration for each chip:
1. $0.25 Frac - LSU
2. $1 - Inspired a bit by the rounders set $1, but it's also inspired by the Spanish Town parade in Baton Rouge which has a lot of white, pink and flamingo decor.
3. $5 - Tabasco
4. $20 - Mardi Gras
5. $100 - Frankly I probably don't even need these for my games, but why not throw in a Saints colored chip.

Revision - Lost count: Likely the last example before these go to print!

Revision 4: Changed $100 accent from gray to white for better Saints match. Swapped $20 to alternate design. This is what the CPC order is based on.

Revision 3, colors locked in, inlays are placeholders and an alternate set design:

Rev 3 alternate:

Revision 2, to reduce the levels on some of the edge spots:

Watch those levels when ordering from CPC in the future. They’re pricey, fine when ordering a few L11 100s, but it quickly adds up when ordering a bunch of L11 1s. As for Tina- all’s good.

Yeah good point. I think 414 like @RocAFella1 suggested is exactly the rounders $1 and I may go with that. I'll play around with the chip tool and see if something else speaks to me.

L’Auberge $1 or the Mardi Gras $1 Harrahs’s would be NICE. I’d also consider a blurple Mardi Gras chip and a gold quarter for LSU. My 2 cents only.

I'm a big fan of the white / pink $1 for my set, spanish town being one of my favorite parades and my wife seems to particularly like it too  . What are your thoughts for a gold quarter, just a solid color chip?

No, but it would be dependent on how you feel about spot progression.

After a super successful first home game in town I'm definitely going to finalize and pursue this set. I'm going to reach out to CPC to do what I need to get the order placed before end of year price changes while finalizing the details.

Also I know there are a few folks in the forum who do inlay design, who are they? I want to start working with someone as well on that.

Excited to get rolling!

Here's a list: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/custom-chip-services.83654/

Great theme! Love the LSU half pie, which also happens to be my own school colors. (Univ of Northern Iowa) Even if you're going to do inlays, I would get that one stamped. I'm assuming it's going to be your quarter.

Has anyone in La tried doing a Laissez les bons temps rouler set? I know that's a lot of words for a little poker chip inlay. Not sure if it can be shortened in any way, but would be fun to try.

Here is my UNI / LSU chip. I did the top one first with a blurple base color, but in low light it was causing dirty stacks with my black T100, so I reversed the location of the two shades of purple and had it re-made.

I kicked that idea around during the early stage of the Sazerac Room design but ultimately decided it was going to be too much wording with everything else we had going on. Would love to see someone take a shot at it though.

Nice! Yeah I've been debating blurple but it does read dark and more blue at times in the CPC set so I think I'll be going lavender or purple instead. Love your set by the way!

I have been having so much trouble coming up with a theme. One idea has been "Bon Temps Jouer" instead of "Rouler". According to the article below it means "well played" but I'd want to confirm that somehow. Still not sure if I'm sold on it.

I've also tried really hard to find out old saloon, gambling hall, or card room names from 1920's or before in New Orleans and haven't found any that stuck out. Crescent City Hall was the considered the first all service casino, serving free food and drink, but that's too New Orleans specific for my BTR set.

Kingfish Casino or Hundred Oaks _____ maybe if you want a BR tie-in on the name. I feel your pain with all the decisions but that is one of the fun parts :)

Got a response from David, sounds like I need to fully make decisions on quantities and levels in order to place an order and lock in 2022 prices. I'll aim to break out the color samples and finalize this tomorrow (busy all day today).

Alright, tweaked the colors based on real life samples and I'm pretty sure these colors are final. The inlay here is absolutely temporary and a very poor attempt by me just to fill the void for now. I want to look over edge spot options again before saying those are final.

Made an alternate set of edge patterns for some chips but I think the $100 would get dirty with the LSU fracs. Thoughts?

FWIW I like the top one better except give slight edge to the bottom $25 chip

You're using way too few colours.

Right now you don't have very complicated spots, which is a good thing. There are enough colours in the CPC palette that you will not have to repeat a single colour among all the base and edge spots in your set.

The colors are based on things related to Baton Rouge or Louisiana. I'm happy with the colors and would rather differentiate with the edge spots.

Completely agree. The colors have plenty of variety.

And hundo number 1 over alternate hundo by a long shot.

I think these are cool. The one thing that jumps out at me is that the inlay seems to really clash with the $5 chip. I understand and appreciate the tobasco inspiration for the chip so I can’t imagine how to fix it. But if you’re looking for feedback, that’s the one thing I’d mention.
Although actually the thing I feel most strongly about this set is the frac - I freaking love the frac very much. That’s a great looking chip.
