Hi - I paid ($520) a seller (@DuffCal) for chips; almost 6 weeks ago
Seller sent a message on Jan 16 that he will be dropping it off for shipping on Jan 17th
No response for 10 days
Responds on 27th with an apology that he was out of town with family emergency; and confirmed he will drop off next day

No response and no action on PCF since

Even though it could be a genuine case, I feel no response for a full month feels being cheated
Anything that I can do ?

Unfortunately you don't have any recourse here. Best you can do is exactly what you did and post a thread warning anyone else about this member.

If memory serves, this person doesn't impress me to be a scammer. Be patient and check in every few days via PM. Ask if anyone knows this person to ping them on their phone or email.

Thank you
Yes the fact that he came back to me with apology after ten days, wants me to think its a genuine case.. but also one month no response doesn't feel good and I had no option but to post it here openly..
Thanks again for your response.

Sorry to hear it, that's a bummer. I've bought things in the past from him that came just fine.

Hopefully a small coincidence, I won a giveaway from him back in October and it was apparently lost in the USPS mail. But its not like that was a scam, he paid for the shipping and it was free. He told me back then he had family matters also.

I had the same issue, I sent a payment request from venmo for the amount he owed me and a note please refund me for chips you haven't sent. He did in a few days. So I believe he had some issue with family that has kept him very occupied. Let me know the out come.

I bought some chips from him in January. He mixed the packages up and wasn't active on here for a week or so, but came back, said he was going through some things, and apologized. I don't have any other contact info for him, but he didn't seem like a scammer, so I bet he'll come back and make it right.

I also sent a Venmo request for refund a week ago, no response
One other individual has also confirmed (through DM) they are waiting for a refund

I really hope he is doing alright and based on others comments and history, it's possible he might come back, eventually

Thanks for those who replied.. appreciate it

I experienced the same last year. He had family emergency, so my order was delayed by nearly 2 months. I couldn’t hear back from him after sending reminder and check ins.

Still he was posting more chips for sale, so I had admins contact him. He shipped the next day and got the chips in good order except the delays.

He is not a scammer. He will come back eventually and I hope all works out to the buyers.

I’ve spoke with him in the past. Couldn’t purchase as it was Crypto/Venmo only.

I get family emergencies happen but unless the buyer is willing to wait I think a quick refund solves the problem. Refunding isn’t overly complicated or time consuming tbh.

I recently bought some HSI barrels from him and recieved one less than I purchased. I think it was a shipping mixup but he hasn’t responded in some time. I am hoping he’ll sort it out but it has been over a month so I don’t know how to interpret that. I don’t believe there is bad intent but the result is the same until rectified.

seems like he is not a solid seller i think more buyers need to post and ask for references from past/present buyers to see if the seller is legit if this was done u would have seen plenty of members have a lot of the same probs from this seller u are having now. hope all works out for the best but yes in the future asking other members for a simple voucher will go a long way not to say its fool proof but it definitely helps.

No one leaves bad feedback unless it’s a major fuck up, and even then it might add up to 99% positive.
I wouldn't call it bad feedback persay, more so detailed description of experience. Other people may be wary of transacting with this user in the future based on the honest input of other members. Kind of unfortunate it has to be in the format of a thread, but maybe @Tommy can set up a reviews section for threads like these in the marketplace portion of our forum. Then people can go to that section and read whatever anyone has posted. Obviously, myself (and hopefully no one else) wants to see a feature like that turn into a he said she said bash your face in party

Personally when I sell on this forum I treat money received like my own if I was the buyer. This includes prompt shipping, photos of the box packaged and at the post office on the scale.

Life happens and I try to be understanding but the communication piece is non negotiable for me. Reading the above I would be very hesitate to ever transact with him in the future.

Or maybe he'll just edit the user's sales threads titles with a warning to PCF after a few weeks - that's a new service offered, I think? Oh, that's just for me, free of charge? Got it!

There’s lots of “custom services” here. I’ll reply again in about a minute.

Sorry this happened @funaffair, IMO theres no excuse for not logging onto a website and responding to a message for over a month in the year 2026. Specifically when money has been exchanged.

To me that would seem like a worthy cause for being 86ed on here, but I don't make the rules and that wouldn't help you much either.

Well there are a couple of obvious excuses and probably a few more we’re not thinking of. Does anybody have this guys phone number to verify he’s ok.

I couldn't find his number except the last 4 digit I needed for Venmo.

If paid in crypto, I hate to say, but you will get refunded in crypto and will result in a loss. For example, you paid when BTC was $80k, then get refunded when it was $70k, your refund will be 7/8 worth of what you paid for in US$.

He goes missing if crypto goes down, speaking of last time he went missing?

Hello

I am also waiting on a shipment. I paid in crypto. He hasn't logged in quite a while and said he had a family emergency. Patiently hopeful things will be worked out in the end

Maybe the admins should add a note to their signature (that can't be removed) saying that they're somewhat of a deadbeat seller. Or even ban them from the classifieds if they're going to pull this BS. Let them sell on eBay and pay the fees.

@DuffCal - If you're going to be a deadbeat, stop selling on here.

I did have a different 'slow shipper' that I bought from a while back.
He had good timing because I was literally filing out a Paypal dispute when he sent me a tracking number.

This is your friend. Always. And beyond PCF too

I have a different definition of friend. I don't consider most on here my friend. Same with most of the people I play with. They're acquaintances. If I get to know them a little more, they might be considered a friend.

As such, if someone was a friend and they pulled this deadbeat BS, they probably wouldn't be a friend for long.

Only exception I can think of: Around 30 years ago, I had a friend that became a roommate. I learned the hard way that he was not to be trusted with money. He was in charge of the utilities. Myself and 2 other roommates were giving him money for the bills. Sure enough, the power got shut off. Find out from another friend that something similar happened to him regarding a bday present that 5+ people were pitching in on.

So he remained a friend, but not one I'd loan money to, or trust with money at all.

Side note: When I moved out, he still owed me money. So I took his mini refrigerator and some other things of his that still didn't equal the amount he owed.
