New artwork...something with horses (another one) (1 Viewer)

Working on an artwork for a new set.

This one is for our longest running game (since 2003), a weekly quarter game.
The first 12 or 13 years we ran this game in the bar of the horse club of one of the owners (and friend of mine)...now we play at his home but obv. he is a big horse lover.

So I want to create a set with a horse theme.
Bad idea since @beyondtilt already created the most perfect set (and one of my most favourite custom sets ever).

Like I said...no fun in creating something when you have the above set in mind.

I'm not going for a (semi) clone (out of respect) but could use some help.
After weeks of thinkering...found some images that could have some potential.

But I need the feedback of all those artwork wizards to get this thing going.
So these are some images i'm looking at atm...working title is "The Jockey Club" or "The Turf Club'



1. Maybe cool for a two-sided artwork (black / white)

2. Old school / vintage look (love it)...espec. the equestrian club logo on image 2 (with the hat)

3. Love the 'flow' of these images

4. Something else (but awsome too)

5. Or....

6. Something specific with Thomas Turf Club

7. Love cartoon-esk artwork

If this doesn't work...i'll just use the CircusCircus artwork...that's only other reference for this game of degens...a circus.
Please let me know if there something you like (and why....or why not).

I have some things I would (maybe) like to add (text)

One of these 3:

- Hold your horses

- May the horse be with you

- Ride it like your stole it

+ a four twentie reference (all weed smokers)

A lot of good ideas. Somehow I like the word Hippodrome. But many of the pics in #2 have potential. I don't think you mentioned chip type, which would have some impact on design choice. CPC customs?

For me Thomas, the two above are the most promising.

There's plenty of good material among your initial reaseach though. Can't wait to see where you go with it.

Now...something important....the name

4. Royal Jockey Club
5. The Jockey Lounge
6. The Turf Club
7. Royal Turf Club
8. The Mad Horse Club

Since the name will have some influence on the artwork...I want to decide this first.
So...what do you like most ?

I went with Derby Club because 'The Jockey Club' was already used and it inspired me for this set...could not steal that name @beyondtilt
This was my second best name and Derby is also used in 'match between two local players/teams, played on the edge....sums up our game pretty good

I will use the 'Hasbaye valley' location name, the region I live in (Hasbaye = Haspengouw, the most fertile grounds in the whole of West-Europe...also known als the fruit region....I live in the valley where it starts).

Have to work out background & placement of denoms & location name.
Feedback and ideas are very welcome....
