About to purchase a tabletop. If both could be obtained at the same price, which one would you guys purchase?

Neither. Get a poker topper mat or poker hoodie. Might be a little more than those tables, but my guess is that either the topper or the hoodie will provide you a better experience than either of those two options.

We’ve all got to start somewhere, I would probably go with the octagon as it appears to have legs, and the other one looks to be just a topper.

Neither. Put that money towards the PCF neoprene toppers Tommy is offering.

    ^ This, seriously.

Around $39 (or less) new and shipped to your front door. That extra $9 is worth tons of implied future equity.

Niether. As others have said buy a topper to get you by until you can afford a regular table.

Just looked into the Poker Hoodie, that seems like a much better option.

Only drawback to a Poker Hoodie is the lack of a rail. It's a good start though, for a developing game or an emergency overflow table.
