If you can only afford one set and both set cost the same price.

Which one will you choose between the two as a playable set?

A) Mint RHC
B) Worn THC

Personally, I had used and owned both. And ultimately, I find myself preferring Mint RHC over Worn THC.

Mint RHC as I like the idea of new. Though maybe ignore me; I've never seen either in person. Live in the land of only plastic chips from China.

You should start planning a vacation to Paulson Creek ;)

Depends how mint and how worn. I don’t like mint never felted chips. They’re too sharp and uncomfortable. Usually if they’re still sharp but have already been used a couple times is best for me.

I also don’t like wafers. If they are rounded and bike tires then I’d rather not.

The perfect chips, for me at least, is somewhere in between.

I have owned several casino used THC and RHC sets, I don’t own any now. Lightly used is fine though.

I own a couple of new RHC sets now (mostly because new THC sets have become more than I am willing to pay for a set).

Thankfully I was able to acquire a couple of THC sets over the years so I don’t need to have more.

Sadly even the nicer RHC sets have gotten pretty expensive with the $5 chips costing over $4/each now.

I'm the only one here, I think, that doesn't care if they're mint or not as long as they're somewhat reverse progressively worn. I.e. I don't want brand new 5s, worn 25s and bike tires 100s. If it's the other way around, that's fine as that's what you get in casinos.

In fact, I prefer them not to be mint. It's like driving a brand new car of the lot if I later want to sell them to you maniacs.

How worn THCs?
Bike tire THC < mint RHC but
Perfectly broken in buttery smooth THCs >>>>> mint RHC

Also this:

Mold is not everything. Spots, inlays, history, design, etc is more important than mold alone. Also price.

On average probably thc for me, but there would be many match ups where I'd choose rhc as well.

Like how "worn"? Bike tires, I'd go with mint RHC. Pretty decent worn, go with THCs. Without further info on "wornness" and blind I'd lean worn THC.

Mint RHC by a ton. They are still pretty damn nice chips. I own several RHC sets that I bought as mint and I love them. I have mint THC sets also that are even better, but the RHC are still pretty damn fine in my opinion.

Voted for worn THC. Don’t need my chips to be dead super duper hardcore infinity mint and much prefer THC to RHC.

As long as the worn chips have been really cared for. Cleaned and oiled. Consistently worn. They shuffle very nicely and carry a lot of history.

OP says "playable set". So if you do get some nice new RHC chips and put them in play, they will eventually become worn RHC chips. So the question is kind of a "apples vs oranges" comparison. "New" this vs "used" that.
Why not ask this: "If Paulson were to open up production to the public again and only offered RHC and THC molds as options, which would you buy?"

In the initial scenario, price is the same. Wouldn't be in this case.
