Mint chips look great but in play they don't feel great.

Lightly worn or even moderately worn are buttery. I would go with a worn THC set if all other factors are equal.

In the initial scenario, price is the same. Wouldn't be in this case.
You are correct: OP is a VERY specific question with price being the qualifier.
I take this as a nice attempt to justify that RHC mold doesn't suck. IMO: RHC SUCKS
Still, comparing worn to new, even at the same price is "apples vs oranges".

I always love this debate. Without a doubt, THC is the superior mold. However, I am one of the few, I think, that really doesn’t care. I love RHC chips, both new and worn. One of my favorite chips to shuffle are worn, oversized inlays, like the Aces or Delta Clubs.

Let the stone throwing begin!!

Early in my chipping journey, my first set of Paulson is the Jack Cincinnati set that contains Mixed THC $1 and RHC.

And I didn't realize the differences in mold until much later. It just shows how minor is the differences between the two for new chippers,

After collecting for a couple years, I find myself preferring condition over mold. (But this is coming from someone who enjoyed Ceramic and Casino-grade Plastic chip as well)

If mold is a thing, my 2 favorite molds is the Cards & Dice & HHR and not THC TRK etc.

Why not ask this: "If Paulson were to open up production to the public again and only offered RHC and THC molds as options, which would you buy?"
The fact that exactly ZERO sets manufactured as nagb sets (public, private, or personal) contained ANY RHC-mold chips whatsoever pretty much answers that question. :)
