Le Shuffler? (5 Viewers)

Hi,
Just to keep you posted, we incorporated feedback from the testers and shipped about 50 machines before the holidays break. We should have finished shipping the rest (about 150) by 20th Jan.
There will be a few machines left for sale.
For more info on the product, operations manual available here: https://manuals.leshuffler.com
Happy Games to all!
I guess I didnt make the tester list. Any reason why you guys went with a mirror finish? Yes it looks nice but the reflection could exposed cards.

I am in contacts with one of the KS backers and he hasn't even got it to complete a shuffle yet.

Hi @minedelta,

Have you pledged on Kickstarter? (Testers were selected among KS backers.)
Mirror finish is purely for aesthetics, it is implemented in a way that doesn't risk exposing cards.
I am in contact with a few backers that have experienced difficulties in loading cards, so far it seems to settle after a while. I believe that in those cases the machine got unsettled during shipping.
We're looking into ways of preventing it in the future.
Hope this helps.
Best,

François

No not a KS backers but the person who had issues was a KS backer and you guys were in talks about testing then he wasn't even contacted to test.

Yeah, I'm hoping it's just a quick adjustment i do like the menu selection. There is a huge gap in the market for people who dont want to spend big money on casino grade stuff.

Hi @minedelta,

Yes we needed 10 testers at the time and had 20 applications in a few hours.

We found out a cause of the glitch: the part of the machine that filters cards at intake has tight tolerance (0.05 mm) and mechanical or thermal shocks during transport can unsettle it. Fortunately it can be readjusted through a simple procedure.
If your friend hasn't seen the update yet, you could point them to section 12 of the manual here:

Hope this helps.
Very best,
François

The guy took my money and I never heard from him again. It was only $10 but how many others were treated the same way.

Hi Jim,
Having checked, you did pay the $10 pre-reservation but did not pledge on Kickstarter finally.
You seem dissatisfied, is there any way I can help?
Best,
François

I have no dog in this fight but it seems like he did try to reach out to inquire about how the situation could be resolved.

I've been watching for reviews also. It seems suspiciously silent since they actually shipped. I would think that's not a sign this project was a success or that this shuffler is what it was expected to be.
🤷🏼‍♂️

Shuffle time:

Le Shuffle 90-100 sec

DM1 45 sec
DM2 22 sec

Dealer 25-40 sec my opinion

In my opinion, 90 sec can be the deal breaker for me since 45sec on DM1 1/5 of the hand are mock or board are not being dealt.

Shuffle Tech has two option.

Quick and long shuffle time.

Sorry, I don’t have the time for them
I timed mine using Faded Spade FX cards. Idk how much different cards with different thicknesses would affect the timing.

Short shuffle (3 riffles + 1 "strip"): 35-40 seconds (although if you test this option with a sorted deck you'll find it doesn't randomize the deck enough).

Long shuffle (7 riffles + 2 "strips"): 65-70 seconds.

So overall faster than Le Shuffler for the moment anyway. I know @francoisLS mentioned they would be optimizing for speed but remains to be seen how much faster it can get doing a full deck since the original design intent seems to be for a continuous shuffle.

With that said, a "budget" option that can handle bridge size cards (ST doesn't very well) is something that I'm at least semi-intrigued by, noise and all.

Always recommend washing the cards before performing shuffling. For better randomization.
If you're using the 3-button on the ST I would agree, but at that point you might as well shuffle them yourself.

The 7-button on the ST does a decent enough job without a wash.

As a complete aside, I've noticed my usual casino has stopped washing the cards before a manual shuffle. There was a faulty DM2 at my table on a recent visit, so the dealers were having to manual shuffle a lot, and not once did they wash before doing the riffle-riffle-box-riffle. Sped things up of course but I was a little surprised.
