I think you're all missing the point of an automatic shuffler here. If you have a table with pass the deck and every one shuffles properly, good for you. You probably don't need one. However, if you do get one and a dedicated "playing dealer", all the others would probably appreciate it. Added bonus, it doesn't matter if you got a card mechanic in your group.
If they don't know how to shuffle, you're gonna get an ulcer. Or brain hemorage.
If you're the dedicated (playing) dealer, you're saving some time but it might not be worth it. It might also save your wrists a bit if your technic is off.
