Always loved pirates as a kid - countless rewatches of Hook with Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman, rereads of the book the Buccaneers, etc. In my library/office now I have a painting hung of a pirate ship, and feel like a lot of the decorative choices for our house/furniture/etc have some bit of seafaring inspiration.. just scratches a deep childhood itch I guess.

Wanted to do a vintage feeling set that felt like a fantasy casino set in the Caribbean (Port Royal being the pirate city of the 17th century)... and here we are.

Breakdown (and inspiration):
  • X - 120 (Steering Wheel of the Ship)
  • 25¢ - 260 (Piece of Gold)
  • $1 - 320 (Dark seas)
  • $5 - 420 (Blood)
  • $25 - 280 (Jewel)
  • $100 - 120 (Treasure Chest)
  • $500 - 80 (Jewel)
+Quite a few extras. Way more than I need, but wanted to have massive flexibility and longevity.

The case/treasure chest was also made by @alecnetwoodworks (amazing job- holds 1200), and love the fact that the wood was reclaimed from an old house in Pittsburgh (home of the pirates).

On to the pics -

You inspired me to make a Harry Potter set now…..

That yellow chip is so strong!

Holy hell these are absolutely awesome. The ewing mold looks amazing. How is the barrel height consistency?

Only had one barrel out of the 28 racks so far that was too tight of a fit in a key west 67.7, all the rest have been bang-on and effectively perfect as far as I can tell.. but possible there was something else going on there with that on barrel (e.g. debris).
