Good EWING, Mr. Bond.
Long-time Bond fan (aren't we all?). Like mentioned in the Jungle Apes set, Goldeneye 64 was one of my definitive childhood games, and have been a fan ever since. Remember the long hours my dad and I would put into it, and then eventually up through Nightfire on the PS2. Ever since have been a collector of bond memorabilia (watches most notably), and my first "big boy" poker chip set was the Casino Royales that Apache sells... but always knew I would want to come back with my own twist on the theme.
When I saw the 1957 British 4th printing of the novel, with the bond girl art.. knew instantly I found the concept for the set (book inspiration pictured below). The NCV uses the original "007" logo (introduced in 1962), as well as pulls Barry Nelson as Bond from the original TV adaption in 1954. Used scallop inlays and colors/spots that also felt like they would fit with the time period.
Overall I really tried to hit a 50s/60s upscale fantasy aesthetic.. know these won't be as eye popping as more modern spots, colors - but feel like the final execution nailed exactly what I set out to achieve and am extremely happy with these.
Breakdown (Incl. Extras):
