Always loved pirates as a kid - countless rewatches of Hook with Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman, rereads of the book the Buccaneers, etc. In my library/office now I have a painting hung of a pirate ship, and feel like a lot of the decorative choices for our house/furniture/etc have some bit of seafaring inspiration.. just scratches a deep childhood itch I guess.
Wanted to do a vintage feeling set that felt like a fantasy casino set in the Caribbean (Port Royal being the pirate city of the 17th century)... and here we are.
Breakdown (and inspiration):
The case/treasure chest was also made by @alecnetwoodworks (amazing job- holds 1200), and love the fact that the wood was reclaimed from an old house in Pittsburgh (home of the pirates).
