How much did you pay for all the chips you have? (6 Viewers)

Somewhere between 20K and 30K for about 12.5K chips.

200 Paulson Detroit MGM Grand quarters
560 Paulson Vegas World
900 BCC Proteges
950 Paulson '98 Casino de Isthmus
2200 Paulson Le Noir
7970 Paulson PNY

plus some assorted stuff.

All of you have a lot of money invested in your chips. If you're feeling
Wow seeing my old post from September really makes me see how much of a chip addiction I have.

Here's my new updated list:

Royal Yak set: 1950 chips: Hard to know for sure, some I paid .39 and some I paid .69 for so probably about $1053 if we average it out.

Terrible's St Jo: 1200 chips: $1400-$1500 plus my Terrible's Shrine with probably another $200-$300 worth of Terrible's items.

CPS (Group Buy Chip): 1k chips $250 bucks)

Hard Rock Casino HU Set: $50 bucks

Custom made Octagon Table: $250

Chairs: $100

3 Acrylic Chip Racks: $140

Wow I have a problem lol...

Anyone that feels like they have a problem, I am more than willing to help!
Just send me a quote for your sets and I'll be happy to take a few beautiful sets off your hands.

All this question did was make me feel like I need to sell some chips.

Obv to purchase more chips, amirite?

Wow, seeing this thread started a few years ago is a neat glimpse into the journey some of us have gone through. Updates would be interesting...

Needless to say, since my post was from 2014, I can safely say that the number I had there is significantly lower than what the actual amount would read today, as I have added (at least) 4200 new chips to the collection since then.

And sold none.

I have a confession to make. I could possibly have fewer chips now... :(

I have recently sold off a bunch of my sets to help fund another chip purchase. But that said, this new purchase is not complete. It's the kind of purchase that takes months and months to receive, if you get my drift.

For the time being, my chip drawers contain:

~2000 Benny's
~2000 Milanos
~1200 Fat Tire Customs
~500 in random Paulson chips (racks, spares, samples).
~500 chips in my wall displays.

In recent years, I've acquired/sold off (for various reasons) the following sets:

Mesquite Star (700)
Milanos (1000)
Championship Poker Series (3000)
Par-a-Dice (700)
Point Defiance (1800)
Lucky Derby (600)
Bucky's Poker Den (500)
Horseshoe Secondary set (500)

Ultimate goal is an addon to my FT tourney set (future-proof), and a 2000 chip FT cash cash set with shaped inlays.

*Not a final draft of course. Still some tweaking in progress.

I'm taking notes here! So that's how I deal with my wife when she asks how much I spent on those when she sees me opening the boxes?! :ROFLMAO:
LOL!! Start out small, and then they just quit asking over time. The key is to be sure a lot of packages show up regularly so it doesn't feel unusual anymore.

It also helps if your wife plays poker with you every Friday; thus, gets to handle the new chips that showed up that week.:D

The Benny's are probably the set that has grown on me the most over the past few years. I'm definitely sorry I didn't buy a set...

I've been chipping for a year, and I spent just over $20k on chips. Currently, I own about $16k worth of chips.

My wife rubs that shit in my face every time we argue (n)

Solution is to stop arguing (y)

The fact she knows, is part of the problem. Lol

The following applies to probably 85% of married chippers.

(Under 1k spent) Entry level chippers don't spend enough to make the wife radar

(1k-5k) Moderate level chippers get creative with fundraising and concealing/downplaying purchases

(5k-20k) serious level chippers are independently wealthy or have very understanding wives (or they've mastered the art of deception)

(20k+). Degenerate Chippers. No words. Probably not married.

Key word- creative.

Lvl three trying very hard not to end up at level four. (I like my wife almost as much as much as I like my chips).

Oh yeah, it's like covering yourself in baby oil, then riding down a water slide. Very difficult to slow down after you get up to speed.

I like that analogy. I will tell my wife over dinner tonight and see what she says.

I'm definitely at level 2, but very close to level 3 so I'm working on mastering my "art of deception" as we speak....

Probably not a good analogy to use. It's very similar to what happens to meth addicts
