How much did you pay for all the chips you have? (2 Viewers)

> Man I don't wanna know mine but I'll try to figure it not some time.

Me either. Probably well over $40K at this point, almost all in the past seven years.

Not sure of a total but I know it has been just over 2k in the last 4 months on one set

I choose not to answer for fear it might lead to regret on my own part.

That said, I know it is less than I have spent on animation art (including one very valuable piece), one antique book (that I had wanted for almost two decades) and my telescopes (personal use "amateur" scopes, not the big guns I use at work).

You're down in Tucson, right? I'd love to come play a game next time I'm down that way!

I've got a Dunes Paulson high denomination set that I use for tournaments with special friends that appreciate them - maybe once or twice per year. I think I paid $3 for the $25s, $8 for the $100s, $12 for the $500s, $30 for the $1000s and $22 for the $5000s (averaged, since they were bought over a sizeable period of time). Ends up being a total of around $7500 (they're worth $11K+ if I parceled them out on E-Bay...the $1000s are 39mm and can't be found anywhere anymore).

My ASM custom set is another $3-4K, but that'll last me the rest of my life.

My Dunes Paulson cash set was more reasonable - $2 for the $5s, $4 for the $20s, $8 for the $100s ($20s and $100s are 43mm baccarat). Count the rack of Dunes $1s my wife got me and it's about $3500.

I had a couple years of run-OK (not quite rungood) at live poker and that paid for some of this. Some were gifts. The rest was just me being stupid :)

All-in, figure $15K. I've bought and sold PNY sets a couple times too but generally sold them for what I paid so not too bad.

Milanos $584
Benny's $1072
CPS $650
Bucky's $200
Lucky Derby's $200
Total $3,000k

Don't even ask about cards, buttons, cut-cards, tables, chairs, accessories, and the many many sample sets, and game room paraphernalia!

OMG!!!! I hate the OP right now, lol.. ha! And I'm seriously looking forward to the Black Friday sale, and I haven't even received my most recent purchase from Jim.

At one point I had spent around 3000 but I've sold a huge majority of them. What originally started out as me wanting to buy one simple set to host games turned into a big addiction haha.

More than the first house I purchased.

^^This.

Still finishing up a current inventory, but it looks to be close to 30,000 chips total -- around 33 complete sets, 55 miscellaneous racks/barrels, plus several hundred individual collector chips. Mostly mint casino Paulson chips. For cost, figure about $1+ per chip average so you do the math.... and that doesn't include any buttons, cards, cases, racks, carriers, tables, etc. It's a real sickness.

Big sale coming up soon; poppa needs a new pair of eyes.

1100 paulson mixed cash set RHC $700
500 BCC Grand Cardroom ( bluesman colors) $500
2000 wsop GB chips (still on a slow boat from China) $500
2000 ABC custom Parrothead Casino cash and tourny chips $1500
50 OWGS custom Parrothead casino tourny plaques $250

thats a lot of money I guess for someone who hasn't hosted a game 5 years.
Parrothead chips ( not plaques) are the only chips that have hit the felt EVER and they have only seen it maybe 5 times.
OMG I should be charged with chip neglect! How many years does that sentence hold:(

I gotta go spend time with my chips.

1090 PNY Mint Tourney Set
1000 Bud Jones CIC Doreado Beach Used Tourney Set
850 Grand Vic Mint Tourney Set
700 Mixed Casino Cash Set
700 Ceramic Yaks
1200 CPS On the Slow Boat From China,

60 Setups of Cards....
Table.....
Odds and ends.....definately worth over $6,000 I would say...

Cheers

I think I am into teh chipes for about a dollar a day over the past 8 or 9 years.

UW's answer wins the internet, IMHO.

If you can easily tally this, it's probably not the cost of a new SUV.

I'm close to breaking the 40k chip mark. I try not to quantify it in terms of dollar amount...you know - plausible deniability. :)

I will ballpark the chips at $4000-$5000. Tables are homemade, but parts probably ran $600-$800. Chairs, $500. Cards, $150 maybe.

Fun derived from it all, priceless.

I am quite stunned by the 30k+ and 50k+ collections, that is amazing.

Are all of those in the gallery? I would love to see these all lined up. I have to say this is a serious bug and I made the mistake of hanging around here long enough to catch it.

I'm in for

1000 CPC custom cash set
1000ish Paulson Starburst
700ish Garden City Paulson cash set

I'm also contemplating a rather rash purchase of a pile of Grand Victoria Paulsons but I am concerned that this is a brash decision leading me down a dark path.

At this point i'm down probably $2500-3000 but that might jump a fair amount in the coming days.

I'm in for $1200

Chip count

1800 Paulson mostly Starburst
700 Royal Yaks
600 Carribean poker Tour

3100 chips.... so I am in at about .40 cents a chip.

It helps that I just scored 500 Paulsons for less than a $100

I'm not sure I want to know the total. I know it's at least $3000, but probably more like $5k. I suppose someday I should find out, but right now I'm busy looking at more chips.
