I have been thinking about doing a custom relabel set for quite a while now and have finally decided to start the process. I still need to figure out the ideas for the inlay, but I'll share some of the inlay designs that are inspiring what I'm going to have made as well as the chips that I plan on relabeling.

The whole theme of this is going to be Florida, more specifically, South Florida where I'm from. I want the chips to embody the beauty of South Florida, the colors, and the overall feel of the area. Here are the CPC mockups of the Paulson chips I plan on relabeling:

The inlays the capture some of what I'm going for when I have one designed is this inlay from Commerce and the Sunset Beach Inlay.

Let me know what you guys think!

Haha, I am working on my first CPC set right now and the colors are drawn directly from the elements of SoFL that I love so much. So many similar colors!

I love the idea and love what you have so far. Also a big fan of sunset beach and commerce casino logos.

Okay so I definitely agree with @RadicusScout on some colors in the color way being weak. I think I’m going to switch out my $1 for something else, but I want it to be blue so that makes it a bit harder. Looking at the chips together I’m not sure if the HSI $5 is the best option. I picked that because of the nice blue on it. So I’m going to look at changing that out for something else also. As for the inlay I’m really inspired by the Commerce inlay because of its simplicity, but it also captures the feel of LA without going overboard. I live close to Miami, but in an area that has lots of beaches nearby so I will try to make something that fits the beach feel of my area. I still have to design the inlay though so I’m open to suggestions. I’ll post my inlay ideas once I get a draft made

I always enjoy playing with color patterns on chips. Dolla-Dolla?

What about flamingos? Aside from bright colors, palm trees etc. flamingos always come up when I think of south Florida. Of course I have only been there as a tourist and during business trips...maybe the locals see the birds differently :)
I could also be influenced from watching too much Miami Vice ;)

I agree, pic a color scheme that says "south florida"; Blues, yellows, pinks, etc. For the inlay, go with the same thought. You could do a common image, or pic a group of florida inspired icons, a different for each denom. Flamingos, palm trees, boats, marlins/fish, miami skyline, keys maps, pirates/treasure, fountain of youth.... lots of option you can use to fit your idea.

I like the idea of using the Agua $1 although I was aiming for a set that uses new chips so it kinda puts it off the table. Also really like the idea of putting a different item that represents South Florida on each chip. In terms of chips that I might change out and find replacements for I’m gonna change the $1 since it’s spots don’t fit the theme. I like the HSI chips, but I’m not married to either of them since. I do really want to use the SY $2 as a Frac since it’s so bright and all the colors make me think of a Florida sunset or sunrise. It’s the strongest chip on the lineup in terms of the colors I want to carry out through the set imo. Thanks for the feedback I appreciate all of it.

I love the quarter pie - it makes me think of sunshine and orange juice, and there's little more Floridian than that.

I'd like to also suggest a color scheme for a Florida Man chip:

- White (for the heavy amounts of clear liquor that were undoubtedly involved)
- Green (if there's not an alligator involved, you're not a true Florida Man)
- Red and Blue (the flashing lights you'll see right before they throw you in the back of the police cruiser)

Quarter Pie - Is that what this style is called? Would CPC be able to create this?

I've been thinking about how I'd be able to use something like this:

Keep in mind, simple is better. Lots of people (me included) design the first set of chips and graphics and go WAY overboard and too complex. Simple, clean, clear is better. Use the "arm length" test. If you arent in a huge hurry (which I hope you arnt) make your designs, then put it away for a week then look at them. Then put them away for a few weeks and look at them again. Are you still happy, or do you see things you want to change? Most designs go through many revisions, and a few years later is possible you wont like the first idea any more.

The chip you've pictured is a half pie. The first chip in the OP is a quarter pie. (Just imagine a pie cut into half or quarters.)

Both are available from CPC.

Yeah this isn’t going to be a rushed project. I’m gonna take a while to pick the chips and inlay design. I’ll definitely take you advice on and look at the designs after putting them away for a bit. I know how fast your views can change in terms of what you like on a chip. It’s happened to me multiple times and I’ve only been here for about a year.

Added some different chips tp the mockups. The only chips I really 100% want in the set is the Jack $2 as the 1's. Not married to the other ones. Let me know what you guys think and if you have recommendations for chips I am happy to hear them. I'm still trying to figure the inlay out since I want to design it myself. The general idea I have is to have it encompass the general theme of my backyard which has a very old florida feel to it. Think natural palm palm trees, palmettos, pine needles on the ground kinda feel. If anyone has ideas for a name I'm also happy to hear them. Thanks!

I'm going to guess that you have 2 each of reds, greens and blacks because they are just different options and not intending to use both.

What denoms are going for? is it frac, 1, 5, 25, 100? I'm a fan of using 1/4 pies or half-pies for fracs, I think the blue would make a great $1. I don tlike tri-moon spots, but its purely a personal choice one this. I know some love them. With the wide tri-moons $1, I prefer the 412 progression for the $5 just for the sizing. The 3d18 is too small in the mix, although 3d14 would work well here. On the $25, try the 412 or the 4d14 with the lt green and pink and finish it with the 4v12 you have.

Yeah the reasoning for the multiple $5-$100's was to show the different options I was thinking of. I'm going for a 5c-$100 set to cover the different games I currently play and to fill it out for use in the future. Thanks for your feedback @Silver_Fiend thats definitely in line with what I've been thinking.

ah, OK. so 5c-25c-1-5-25-100?

In that case, I think the light-yellow of the 5c chip needs to changed to something lighter or darker. As-is, it blends too much. A white would work, or you use the brown for both spots, or make it a single spot, or even a no-spot.

The actual chip I’d use for the relabel is the argosy 50¢. The CPC colors don’t capture the real color that well, it’s more a really light tan. But I agree that it’s likely going to cause dirty stack issues.
Here is what it looks like on stacks.

Yeah I’m planning a relabel set. I used CPC to show the chips I plan on using mainly because I don’t have them or if I do have them I don’t have them in my possession to take pictures of. Once I get back home I’ll take pictures of the ones I do have so I can post them. I really like the idea of a white frac though. Maybe for the 5c

Okay decided on a name, but still waiting on a designer right now. I'm planning on the name being either Tortuga Resort and Casino or Tortuga Cardroom. The name reflects the large number of gopher tortoises that have been living in my backyard since I moved and the fact that I really like them. Here are the chips that I plan on using going fro 5c-$100. Let me known your thoughts.

Everybody, be gentle! This is my first time designing a label for chips. I have some experience with graphic design, but not in this world. I looked at a TON of different inlays/labels from others to get an idea as to how to make this work, so thank you to all of the other designers out there! Also, thanks for the shoutout, @Bill_Man618! This project was, and continues to be a lot of fun!
