Favorite Set of Cards to Play With (1 Viewer)

I got some desjgn cards along with some chips I bought from @kmccormick100 (thanks alot mate!) they were nice, unfortunately one of the cards chipped, so the deck is out :(

Great!
Trying out some bridge cards for mix games and gin type games. Already ordered kem narrow regular index for that.
My experience is that bridge size cards aren't sold quite as much as poker size in Norway :)

PM sent.

Damn this is still a killer unless you're ordering multiple setups. $8.51 a setup!....with $10 shipping.

Sucks since Dal Negro green brown circlebacks are some of my favorites!
Yeah, it’s not ideal. But I’d hate to order more and be disappointed in the cards?

Just bought 2 set ups of Dal Negro’s from Kardwell...I’ll report back!

Very curious to hear how these are. They were around $6/setup for a while but I’ve heard there’s at least two different batches of Dal Negro cards.

I bought a set up several years ago. They are thick and I believe acetate but not sure. They feel like stiff Kems in that they have more of the rubbery (don’t know how to describe it) feel of acetate cards vs the brittle plastic feel of others.

In any even, store them like acetate cards (upside down with a cut card and dealer button on top) because they may bow slightly. Mine did.

Busted my old ones out (retired and well worn over the years) and actually was surprised at how soft they felt after playing with Cartamundis lately. I love bow vibrant the reds are also.

I didn't experience any bowing with my Dal Negros like I do with KEMs, but I'll let others chime in.

Mine were the circleback green/brown for what it's worth. Not sure the age of the stock.

I received the Dal Negro’s today. Overall they look and feel great. No bowing so far, we’ll see how the hold up after shuffling. The colors on both set ups are bright, very similar to Kem’s. The standard backs feel a little heavier than the circle backs.

I’ll get a chance to put them in play next week, I’ll report back with how they held up.

I have the exact setups. Mine had a sticky resin like substance on them which made them impossible to shuffle. I wiped each card down with a damp cloth and it was gone. However both circle back deck took a bow and one of the cross hatch did as well.

I think these are acetate cards so I would store them like I recommend for Kems.

The artwork on the circle backs is a favorite of mine. Love the full color

Are they smooth or with texture type of plastic?

@desjgn, I tried to take some pics with a little glare to show the texture. Not sure if it is helpful or not. There is definitely texture but also a glossiness so I don’t think they necessarily feel rough. The circle squares are very very close to your recent kick starter reprints but very slight more flexible. The cross hatch have a similar texture but are stiffer than the circle squares.

When I got them and felt the stickiness I figured they were some type of packaging or manufacturing mistake and that’s why they were so cheap. It did wipe off though.

I have a real soft spot for the Dura-Flex plastics by Bicycle. I find them to be very very durable for even the most abusive players. I love the individual boxes they got

I also got a smoking deal on like 12 decks so I won't be buying any cards anytime soon.

I also have a pair of Kem to add a bit of flavor here and there.

Many years ago I spent quite a while learning card sleights / close-up magic, and went through a lot of decks of cards of various kinds, and I needed to be able to work with whatever average storebought deck someone might have lying around. Despite years of involvement with cards I had never heard of KEM or a couple of the others mentioned until reading this thread tonight... going to have to do some shopping now, dangit

I collect cards so most of the time I end up using decks of cards that I have open up. So far have use copag, superior, bicycle metallux, kingwildproject display deck, honey bees L, JAQK amber deck, etc... the only decks that can’t be use are like cartomancer deck where there are no index.

I do like the way KEMS handle, just wished they didn’t warp as others have also noticed. The Kem Arrow looks is very visually appealing design to me.
