Do most People actually play with their Paulson chips or just collect them? (2 Viewers)

I’m with @upNdown . The majority of chest thumping replies here suggests everyone plays all their chips but I’m willing to bet that mindset is easily the minority of PCF. @TheRealTeddyKGB won’t let you shuffle your own chips that you have to bring on his table. And definitely none of his chips meticulously pictured.

@Kage Chip for yourself and what makes you happy. Don’t need validation from anyone else.
Chest thumping or not … I can say that the only two sets I do t use frequently are the chai sets and only due to players reluctance … they see the felt only a couple of times a year … the rest, a lot more

Aren't market prices for Tigers actually lower than Ken prices?
Some are, and some are higher … and some can’t be had at reasonable prices … but go on

Agree, just an observation that up is not a given. I love the tournament set I have and like the majority of my chips never plan on selling, so up or down doesn't make a difference.

Yes! Every fucking chance I get, I'm getting one of my sets on the felt. I collect set SO I can put them into play. It sucks when they just sit on the shelf.

Here are just some examples of my poker chips being used for what they were intended...

And I am not one for gossiping, or making it as if I am trying to prop up anything … but if I were to give an ‘insider’s’ view on the Paulson’s world of affairs (and it’s probably a reasonable assumption that I have some good view of what is going on)… it looks bleak … i think we are at a tipping point, similar to what happened a few years back when large inventory of THC chips were bought out by a ‘collector’… trying to find leaded chip sets, or old casino sets is nearly improbable at reasonable prices … try that with PCAs and many others … yes, there may be more NAGBs, but I would wager that smart money would be holding on to THC chips and not ‘discounting’ them.

You’re probably right. And how long will it be until we’re saying the same about RHCs, because everything is going plastic? And we know what happens after that . . .

Screw em though. Play with your Paulsons fellas!

And yes, I do have some info on the plastic vs clay as well … and plastics IS the future … even for a company that spent $100mm+ buying GPI/Paulson that did/does dominate the clay chip business … but people can sell the chips at whatever price they want … it’s a marketplace after all … personally, I wish I held on to every single chip I ever sold … channeling @ovo here :p

Ah yes, the single greatest (and greediest and most hypocritical) flipper this hobby has ever seen now wishes he never sold a single chip.

You’re truly showing all your colors to PCF … but keep going … from Politics to CD (and the doxing and inevitable shutdown, etc), and all other shenanigans of the last decade have shown your vengeful and dark side .. this it not a thread for it … not sure why you keep following me and the TP chips and post, but clearly you have a chip on your shoulder and are butt hurt … but keep going … or perhaps you’re better off venting at the other forum with all other haters … keyboard warriors with childish behavior are aplenty … but you can’t keep your jealousy hidden and need to vent and hate … keep going, Travis … all good, buds … nothing new … the old Boat/Star thread was a 100 pages long and full of your hate comments.

And for some happier thoughts, some more TP chips in play

I haven't played with every single set yet, but there are no chips on the pedestal, they are all playable

I think many of the collectors are afraid to speak up (those who collect and don’t felt) bc those who felt are very proud. In addition, if you’re labeled as someone who doesn’t felt them, some may be annoyed with you and may not even do deals with you. I certainly have had some transactions in my favor bc chippers know I put my chips in play.

However, I don’t felt about 10% of my chips. I will buy singles and racks with the sole purpose to preserve them in the mint form I bought them and to collect!

Both make sense in my book!

I don't care if someone buys and does not play with the chips. That is their decision. But I hate people that buy and try and make some money with flipper action, and let me explain my reasoning. We are a community of chip collectors and we should be trying to help each other build great sets. For example, the chiproom has a sale and people buy up chips, not to build a set, but to try and make a profit, reselling at a higher price to people that were trying to build a set, but got shut out on that sale initially. When I buy, it's solely for personal use. Sure, someday I will sell, and the market will dictate the price, but I don't buy extra chips with the intent to make money, simply because by doing that, someone else won't get chips at a great price, to build their set, and I believe in a community, where we help each other, not try and profit off of each other. I am shocked and saddened at the high prices of chips these days. It's why I am slowly losing interest in the hobby.

There's many of us here that still feel this way. I help people out all the time, but lately ive been drawing a line about who to help. I've never blocked anyone before last year but started blocking people now. It's mostly people I just dont think are good for the community

Let's get one thing straight. YOU brought this on yourself by following me around and trolling me for years with false accusations, calling me a "flipper" and shitting on me with regularity. And here you are again with your bullshit about me spouting "hateful comments" regarding the Boat/Star chips when I never did anything of the sort. All I ever did was defend those guys and their right to order chips as they please and to include whoever they please for any reason they want, despite being excluded from the group buy. I'm so sick of people like you running around trolling me on these forums accusing me of absolute bullshit, constantly. Especially when those very same people LIKE YOU turn out to be the very thing they were falsely accusing me of for years. Like being a FLIPPER. YOU ARE THE KING FLIPPER OF THIS SITE AND THE KING HYPOCRITE. Just own it.

All my friends know I don't felt the Deadwoods, and most of my Rounders; and that I am a collector diva with those chips. I posted as a joke thinking I was going to get all laugh emoji responses, but it appears @detroitdad , @Lil Tuna , @Eazy , @Ben8257 , @JRald07, @FordPickup92 , and my other peeps are still napping. :ROFLMAO:

So my advice to you @Kage is why settle?? Buy a ton of shit and keep part minty fresh. It's like having a 1967 427 big block corvette in the garage with a 500HP supercharged mustang as your daily driver. You'll still enjoy the adrenaline from putting awesome chips in play regularly, while oggling those beautiful untouched ladies when you're drunk on the weekend!! :)

Good luck on your journey @Kage !!
