Arrived today, pretty pleased!!! Little bit larger than 39mm and definitely thicker than a normal poker chip. Stacks of 20, lol.
Most likely will be a OFCP set.

Not sure but I think the boxes are just custom made. Not by a company

I have a couple of other sets incomning and then I’m done. I swear. :p

Final assembly of all sets should be in 2 weeks. Then The purge begins

I need something more functional, less luxury. I’ll keep looking.

Those 1.75” are 45mm or under.there must be some poker chip racks/ tray storage that will do the job

I’m looking for something more like a case or box than a rack.

The nice think about the 1.75” checkers is they play great on a chess board with 2” or 2.25” squares.

Next venue is at a decent brewery.

It seems like Boston has an active backgammon community. I read that the chess club there banned backgammon in the 70’s because they were afraid it would take over the club.

You made me go dig up some math...

The formula to calculate combinations is nCr = n! / r! * (n - r)!, where n represents the number of items, and r represents the number of items being chosen at a time.

So 17!/3!*(17-3)! = 17!/3!*14! = 17*16*15*14*13*...*2*1/3*2*1*14*13*...*2*1 = 17*16*15/3*2 = 680 combinations.

Hope that helps. :)

Wow, good luck. Sooo many possibilities! I like the ones you have chosen: the rust and taupe for the points. Maybe the far right beige for the field? Let us know your final selection.

Then again, with BSteck’s formula, you have a lot more work to do!!!

My swatches of merino wool are in now the hard part.

My humble suggestion is a neutral color for the field (that won't show dirt or wear) with complimentary pip colors that do not clash with - or hide -- the two checker colors. Nothing worse than making a play error due to not seeing all of the checkers at speed.

Having five completely different colors is also usually not a good or aesthetically pleasing idea. KiSS is a good guideline, although not a particularly artistic one. I much prefer improved function in this regard.

Agreed

I have a few ‘finalists’. For color combos

Think I’m going neutral.

Liking this combo. All 3 felts have a heathered look. Works with multiple checker sets too.

Who is making this board, and is this the full color palette? I have custom checkers in process from crissloid I’m waiting on. A custom board would be amazing.

There are quite a few more colors to chose from

I need to find out if he will do custom size where the checkers fit in. Plus I’d want dice cups to match the case leather

wife's board came in . Really like it. Now she want the custom checkers too.
Oh boy.
