The 2025 WSOP kicks off today with the 1K Mystery Millions and $500 Casino Employee Event.

I am always looking for better quality pictures of any known chips and any new chips we have not seen in previous years

Current Chip Guides:

WSOP Chip Usage - 2022 Paris/Bally's Secondary Paulsons
WSOP Chip Usage - 2022 Paris/Bally's Tertiary Paulsons

Note: Apparently WSOP.com destroyed their website in favor of being app only and it is unusable for any historical research now. Complete bummer. You will need to use Pokernews now for any updates.

PokerGo Streaming Schedule - Seems like a total joke this year but I probably say that every year
PokerGo Youtube channel that sometimes shows free live coverage

Apparently the 1K primaries have already reached peak nastiness after four years.

No great day 1 card pictures yet but they are looking similar to last year but with a hexagon pattern for the logo instead of a pentagon.

Looking at Brad Owen's Instagram, is that Tournament Director they're using now?

Not sure if it’s been discussed yet but this year you have to download and be verified on the WSOP+ app to play live poker. There are some benefits, every table has a tablet so they are tracking who should be in what seat. On break you can see who exactly is at the table with you. They also update chip counts on break.

PSA, when they tell you “it’s no fee to register with credit card” please be aware that it’s run as a cash advance and your bank almost certainly charges a fee for that. It’s true the WSOP isn’t charging a fee (typically casinos and your bank both charge hefty fee for this type of transaction) but your bank still is.

Looks like new 100k chips to me or am I wrong?
Blue Grain(?) with what looks like Metallic Gold edge spots.

Anyone got better pics? or can prove me wrong

The WSOP photographers use weird filters that make the chips look odd sometimes. You can see it on the bottom picture with the 25Ks looking like they have pink edges when in reality they are Tan.

It is this:

If I only register in person at the cage for one or two events do I need to have the wsop+ app?

Mad respect to Steve Zolotow. 80 years old and just out there cashing in 2-7 NL draw events.

And an excuse to tell you one of my favorite WSOP facts. Steve won his first bracelet in 1995 when he bested 23 others and was crowned the champion of the 5K Chinese Poker event. They ran the event again in 1996 as a 1.5K and it was such a logistical nightmare that they canceled the event ahead of 1997. Around 10 years ago they tried to bring it back and the players hated the idea so much that several seasoned players led by Daniel Negreanu started a campaign against the idea.

So there's your poker game bar bet you can win. Chinese Poker was in fact a WSOP event.

Why is the Shuffletech table side and not mounted in the table?

They do that w certain ellipse tables. I also noticed it at the new Venetian stream studio etc.

It’s almost like there isn’t a 1 seat and there isn’t a 10 seat. Imagine seating positions 2-9, 8 handed.
