And here's the top of my full chart for today's Semantle word. Post yours (in a spoiler!), I think seeing the mental chain is fascinating.
Don't click unless you've tried Semantle! It's a whole different kind of thing: https://semantle.novalis.org/

My chain of thought started out dark and stayed there the whole time, which really held me back from breaking through to the solution.
My early guesses were clustered around circus, sideshow, freak, abomination, oddity, and aberration - and I couldn't get out of that general zone. Aberration was so close (942/1000), and the others seemed to lead up to it so naturally, that I kept trying to think of what else would be "like aberration but even moreso" but I just couldn't find anything closer. Eventually I hit on hoax, playing off of sideshow and spectacle; hoax was a big hit, and it led to myth and legend and then god - which finally beat out aberration! That gave me a whole new area to explore, but they were all false leads: devil, angel, demon, goddess, lord, master... but then I hit faith, prayer, pray... and then it clicked.
Anyone tried quordle yet? That’s even more annoying![]()

This one is great. Though Americans might struggle because you've got to guess the country from the outline of its borders and I've heard you guys don't know many countries .
Yeah that one really was. Yesterday's was not thoughThis was very easy
What was yesterday’s answer?Yeah that one really was. Yesterday's was not though
Venezuela. I know where it is, but until yesterday I had no bloody clue what its outline looked like. What was yesterday’s answer?
I just started playing wordle about a week ago, and I have a different approach. I see people brag about getting it in 2 or 3 and I just laugh, because that’s so much luck. My approach is just to make sure I get it every day. I find myself usually burning guesses 3 and 4 by eliminating as many letters as possible, instead of trying to guess it.
So instead of the vowel rich words that a lot of people like to use in their early guesses, I’m usually using fewer vowels, so I can efficiently eliminate as many letters as possible, in my first four guesses.
I dunno, I figure if they give me six guesses, I’m gonna uses them all, and make sure I get it.

How many have you not gotten at all? Does that even happen?Give it another week or 2 and you'll likely see your stats improve - regardless of whether you care or not about them. Unless of course you're torpedoing yourself on purpose and are starting with words like "boobs" just to have fun lol.
Most people I know end up developing their own strategic words to start with (first and second guess). Some like the crazy 4 vowel words like AUDIO. I often start with either TEARS, CRANE, COULD or HOUSE. After a couple of weeks, your brain will likely start processing the puzzles faster / more efficiently, you'll realize that with those second and third guesses, you can enter words that not only check for additional letters, but also check the location of letters you already know. I averaged about 5 guesses the first week, the last week or so I've gotten all of them in 3 (and got lucky on one in 2).

I've only been playing for 3 weeks, but on the "official" once a day wordles I haven't missed any (had a very close calls that first week). I've played a bunch of the archived ones and did miss one of those. I forget which word it was but IIRC it was a word I didn't know.
