My account was hacked last year and it happened about 5 pm.I haven’t done a bunch of detailed research, but it seems these scam deals also come early in the morning here, like before everyone’s up and viewing - just a few eager early birds that jump on a too good to be true deal, before it’s been viewed and vetted a bunch.
If there is not a bunch of “GLWS” and “great price” and “how is this still here” and “great chips great seller” posts then it hasn’t been vetted yet.
100% agree. This should be required in the first post….not afterwards via PM.@Tommy
On the card/paper should be 2 things required (Username of seller + today's Date) handwritten only + a pic of the sale item. All three should be visible in the 1st pic in the sale thread & required for all m2m items.
This won't 100% stop all issues, but it is a common requirement on other m2m sales forums and it does help a lot
I’m not buying anything from @Sprouty unless there is a crudely drawn dick and balls on said index card. After talking with some members in PMs, it doesn't look good.
I'm going to add a new rule that photos in the classifieds must be included and must include your username on an index card or a piece of paper. I don't know if that will stop it but hopefully it deters these POS scammers.

Going to need proof this is you….My account was hacked last year and it happened about 5 pm.

Some of us would have issues with the stamp being too big. We'd need a volunteer who could fit on the stamp. The only true way to rule out hackers is with a d*ck stamp. Which is now required on all sales.
Unfortunately, yes. It was a decent deal, not a way-below-market like the JACK Detroit listing. Didn't helped that I was sleepy, drunk, and high at 4am local time. Furthermore, I knew of Ryan from a previous deal so didn't think anything was suspicious.Did @ArielVer18 bought any set as well ? The picture and title was removed

Hope your chargeback go through, it will help to inform the bank early. Some bank will require you to do an online police report about it tooUnfortunately, yes. I don't normally fund PaypalFF with a credit card, but fortunately, this time I did. I'll try the chargeback route once the transaction post.
I remember that listing being strange. The per barrel price and the total price didn’t make any sense, but chalked it up to a typo.Unfortunately the Jack chips weren’t the only scam. He was at it earlier this morning too. F***er
Lifted pics from a sale from last month.

What is the reason all these accounts get hacked recently. Is it insecure passwords?
2FA for paypal blows for chiproom sales though lolNew account using the same proxy was rejected. Please be careful. Unless you can confirm you are dealing someone you know, new or old account, please consider using PayPal Goods and Services to protect yourself. If the seller doesn't want to accept that type of payment even if you offer to cover the fees, I would not send them any money.
Yes, I believe that is the case. There also have been many zero-day OS and web browser exploits recently. Make sure you keep your browser and OS updated. I'm also aware of the Log4j security vulnerability effecting many web servers and have already applied patches for that a week ago.
I read that many sites like PayPal and Google will require users to use 2FA as some point in the near future. 2FA using an app on your phone is the best way to go IMO.
This is why you have a lock on your phone.I’ve heard horror stories where peoples phones get stolen/hacked then they have full access to everything bc everything is 2FA
Specifically they receive the texts for xxx-xxx-xxxx so when they forget/reset password they get the text then boom full access

Resetting a password via text message isn't the same as 2FA. 2FA just means a secondary authentication method. Any mix of something you know (password, PIN), something you have (USB fob, phone app) and/or Something you are (fingerprint, retina scan).I’ve heard horror stories where peoples phones get stolen/hacked then they have full access to everything bc everything is 2FA
