Never click "continue shopping" after the sold out message. It takes you to http://thechiproom.com/ Just use the back button or edit another instance of the shopping cart. By the time I'm done with a TCR purchase I have like 6 tabs of carts to close :)

I really think PayPal is trying to age me about 10 years. The inventory dilemma has now spilled over into the $5K secondary and $25K primary chips. I'm going to do inventory on the $1000 (primary and secondary) and $5000 primary also. I held back around 1000 of each, but I don't know if PayPal burned through those. I was in a really good mood this morning. I got a good night sleep and thought I had a handle on everything. I didn't even think about the higher denominations as I was so focused on the others.

I decided I will not be shipping out any orders with substitutions without contacting the customer first. This is the only fair thing to do now with the additional issues. I am so sorry and embarrassed for all of these issues. I would normally be wrapping up shipping, but I still have a ways to go. I apologize for the delays. I am heading back to warehouse to fill the orders I can, then I will spend the rest of the evening emailing customers. I really appreciate how understanding everyone has been. Everyone I have dealt with has been beyond wonderful. We really do have one of the best communities around.

Thank you everyone for patience and support.

Jim

So sad to hear about this Jim , hope you can work it all out and hopefully don’t experience this again. You’re appreciated by many here , and faults always occur. You can’t do anything about it that this happened , therefore don’t put the blame on yourself too. You’re already the dough of the pizza in terms of this community , providing us with obsolete casino chips. Hopefully you can sort it out and the members will be understanding at this issue. I’m sure most of us are

You mean you slept! With all of us waiting for our chips!

Well, ok, but don't let it happen again! Shesh, some people . . . .

Think of the mint rare chips as the bait to get people to buy more of other denominations that will later spur demand from people to complete their sets. Easier to move large quantities when so many have skin in the game.

New Member: “Hey guys I was wondering if anyone has jackpot casino coin inlay chips for a great price?! Are they any good? Or how about any ghost bicycle cards?! I hear those are mysterious and wow those jack chips are nice! But why is everyone angry, you can get chips at Costco for pretty cheap, I mean they are just chips and I’m sure the company will make some more”

I have a question. Does anyone know if I send you a refund, does PayPal keep any part of it for fees. I have another call with with my PayPal rep and I want to make sure everyone is taken care of.

I received my full refund, Jim. Nothing was withheld by PayPal.

There was the following note, that the Refund was paid for by the seller:

Seeing as this was a PayPal issue, it may be worth ensuring that you're not on the hook for additional fees for any refunds you had to provide.

That's good news. Not so worried about us as I am you guys.

since an year, paypal does no longer refund fees.
So, If I receive a 100.00 euro/usd payment, paypal cut his fee (from 1.8% to 3.4%, plus 0.35 euro/usd fixed amount), so I get less than 100. If I refund, my customer get 100.00, but I lose the fees I paid.
Before march 2020, the seller was losing only 0.35 (the small fixed amount) if a payment was refunded. Paypal it's so greedy

Given that this was a Paypal screwup, I would hope Jim should be able to get any fees that he is on the hook for refunded from Paypal.

Are these new or used primaries?
Used primaries, but I'd say that the used $500s are definitely on the nicer end of the scale. I'm guessing that that's typical of used $500s and up vs $100 and down. [edit: looking at the 1ks in the pr0n thread, maybe not!]

But in your situation, it was the buyer that requested a refund, possibly because the seller didn't send what was expected. Or if a buyer returns something just because they changed their mind, it's perfectly reasonable for seller to charge a re-stocking fee to cover those PayPal fees and other costs incurred.

In our case here, the refunds are due entirely to PayPal's error. So it would be completely unreasonable for them to not refund fees charged for a transaction that never would have taken place at all other than due to their error.
