I was looking through my old photos and found this one from 2011. Must have been getting Private Cardroom chips. This is the back of Gpi. Process was ring the doorbell, go inside to sign paperwork, wheel a pallet out and load up.

Any hope to have any resurgence in this type of business happening again with them? They must have felt some sort of profit marging hit to them during the pandemic, especially in Europe and Asia... here in California, New York etc...

Between a 0.000001% and 0.00000001% chance is what the PCF statisticians have come up with. Seems like it'd make sense but there's pages and pages of threads pointing out why they very likely won't unfortunately.

Damn, those were the good old days. I don't think we realized how good it was.

I remember being unimpressed with the suits/pip mold (private cardroom, WTHC, Avalon, etc) thinking the options/colors/edgespots were way too limited, progression less than ideal, etc. Christ. They look pretty damn good now.

Remember when @Apache Josh was trying to get enough commitment to order solids, but people couldn't agree on the colours? :wtf:

Man, $1 each.

The notion of semi custom Paulsons for ~$1 seems completely absurd seeing these same sets being sold for several thousands of dollars. I sold my group buy Pharaoh tourney set for ~77¢ each I think. Chipping is complete madness these days.

Those were indeed the good old days.

Around the time I joined CT I was fortunate enough to pre-order a set of brand new Paulson’s for .89 each from @Apache . The first run of the Private Cardroom chips. My first set of “real chips”. I want to say this was late 2006. The suits/card pips mold had just been released to the home market. Exciting times. My wife couldn’t fathom that I was spending that much money on poker chips. Boy how times have changed.

Maybe some day again. Here’s to wishful thinking.

@Apache do you think you could swing a bcc mold custom buy?
I don't mean to derail, but another poster and I tried this last year. We were shut down pretty quickly, but that was almost a year ago. Maybe that will change one day.

Yes but he had a past relationship with them and someone had a retail set they tried to sell year or three back. They were kind of meh but they were actual bcc flame mold if I remember correctly. Yvv he ata why I asked.

How did the Paulson Noir happen? I seem to recall you were behind those and I believe that was my first big Paulson buy. It sure was simpler back then when your biggest worry was getting the perfect breakdown in stead of availability. Still miss those chips.

Has Paulson gotten more popular over the past 10 years? More collectors?

Bought my first set of chips from you. Avalon!! Still have them. Should have bought more :)
Now no shipping to Denmark.

Noir was never for sale on apaches website.

Really?! I could've sworn that's where I ordered them. Who sold them then?

Edit: I guess it was sidepot? Well, that's embarrassing... I wonder what chipset I did buy from Apache.
