Hello, my experience in poker is manly playing tournaments but a group of friends have expressed interest in playing a cash game. I have a fair understanding of # chips needed to play a cash game with .25/.50 blinds $50 buy in. Why would one buy multiple Bond Pot chips for a cash game? Wouldn’t one chip be enough? Please help me understand the purpose of this chip type. Thanks

Depends what youre doing with it. Some people purchase one before the game and can play em whenever, some give everyone one per night, others just need one that goes to whoever won the last one.

"Enough" and "need" are two of those funny words here lol.

Each player starts with one and they can request a bomb pot if they like and redeem it w their bomb pot chip etc

So, I”m guessing the chip itself isn’t needed for a cash game. It’s more of a “want” to have a cool looking chip to play bomb pots. Give each player a bomb pot chip that they can use when or if the like play around. Thanks

Our crew uses just one bomb pot button when playing cash games. It orbits the table in the opposite direction of the dealer button. It stays in front of one player until the dealer button and bomb pot button are both in front of the same player - this is when the bomb pot is played. When the hand is over, the dealer button moves as usual and the bomb pot button moves the opposite direction and stays with that new player until the DB comes back around to that person. Repeat…

I love love that. Thanks for a better way of using it.

just like this.
or we pick a card and if it hits the flop it's BP next hand.

correct. it's more for the look!
Disagree.

At the casino, they do a bomb pot on dealer change. The regular button is pushed back behind the line and the bomb pot button becomes the dealer button.

After the hand, the bomb pot button rotates counterclockwise (opposite way of the regular button) and gets pushed behind the line while the regular button is activated again.

Basically, it's a second button used for bomb pots only, orbiting the table to make sure no one gets a positional advantage during bomb pots or misses blinds.

We send the bomb pot button with the dealer button, so the guy who was SB during the bomb pot gets the button on next bomb pot.

We don't use a chip or button. Anytime a hand is won with a full house or better, the following hand is a bomb pot keeping the same dealer position and playing the same game.

Anybody play with a Thermonuclear Bomb Pot, when it hits everyone shoves their stacks in the middle preflop?
I believe it's called "Global Thermonuclear Bomb Pot!"

Not sure why you’d need bomb pot chips.

Just say ‘bomb pot’

My new favorite is Icelandic scarney with the whole orbit played with a bomb pot.

And also for those afraid of regular PL Archie ( you know who you are !)
Bomb pot and go str8 to first draw.
