Most of us have bought and sold many sets. Which set would you go back in time and hang on to if you could?

There are a couple contenders for me but the one that I miss the most, and have the least chance of ever getting back, has to be my Paulson Le Cove set.

Which is yours? You can only pick one! :)

(EDIT: just noticed the 'only pick one' clause. I guess the giant mixed set of all of the following.)

PCA $500s
Playboy AC Bud Jones CICs
Aztar&PCA secondary mixed cash and tourney set
Caribbean Poker Classic Chipco tourney set
T-mold hotstamps (2 sets)
Paulson Starbusts (lavender, pink, light blue, yellow and purple and near mint)
Matsui Zens
Paulson : Aruba Palm Beach $5s, Condado Beach $25s, Ambassador Plaza $100s
Empress $5-$500 tourney set
Aruba Americana CICs
Bahamia Paulsons
Mixed set of PCA primary $25/$100 and Outpost $5
ASM solid hotstamps

I thought I would think of more but I must be finally over them:)

My PCAs. They were my first ever Paulsons and I absolutely loved them. I sold most of my chips to fund a holiday and engagement ring, the things we do for love.

The worst part is I sold them for a stupidly low price, just before chip prices went crazy. I think that's the part that burns the most haha.

ASM WSOP tourney set / BCC Samurai Palace / PNYs / ASM Horseheas rounders replicas/ oodles of Paulson Pharaohs/ Paulson golden gate quarters.

Probably the PNYs, even if I didn't care for the feel, stunning looking chips.

No major regrets on any of the sets I sold, instead it is the set I never bought.

When I first started chipping I could have bought Paulson Vineyard's at reasonable prices but instead bought the Paulson Pharaoh's line because it had a quarter chip. Also because they were available from several retailers so I figured I wouldn't have a problem adding to the set later on. Which I did many times over the years. Eventually I had over 3,000 of them between cash and tournament.

I really do not have a regret so maybe I need to work on one. I guess if I had to choose it would have been my very first set which was the Grand Vic primary cash set. I had well over 1,000 chips and ended up selling them. I really do not regret it too much because those were my gateway chip! I then started collecting Las Vegas Casino chips and started with the Tropicana 2nd editions which is now over 1,000 chips. In my mind it was a pretty good trade off.

especially those $25's. Now that was an auction to watch!
Seriously I'll never forget watching that unfold while I was at work. That single handedly let me get the set that I really wanted.

It put you in a great spot for you customs at ~$21 per chip that was nuts. Very nice chips and they went to Tennessee if I remember correctly

I wish I had manned up and just paid extra for my customs instead of selling the PCA set to offset the cost. Beautiful 1500 chip cash set. Mint secondaries with plenty of fracs. I miss the PNYs and the Highway 9s and the BCC high rollers, but they weren't as perfect as the PCAs.

Not really a regret (because the sale of this turned into my customs) but one set I wish I could have held onto:

My Le Cove set and Treasure Casino became my forever custom set. I'm slowly rebuilding the TC but the Le Cove are gone for good. I also wish I had just manned up and laid out the additional cash to keep them all.

Yeah, same here..... in my case, it was Deadwoods. And then TRK was gone forever. Stupid.

None of my players are into chips but one mentioned that he remembered Vineyards were easy to get back in the day.
Must have been before my time because I don’t recall seeing them on eBay like you see maybe Horseshoe now. Trying to buy into Vineyard now this makes me nuts of course lol.

Yea, Deadwoods was another option I thought about too. Passed on them because I thought the inlay was a little boring compared to the Pharaoh's with their unique art on every chip. Though I ended up selling the Pharaoh's because of the annoying mold and lack of edge spot variety lol.

Oh well, I can't be too upset, I probably would have sold whatever set I bought eventually and would really be kicking myself in the ass if they were Vineyards or Deadwoods!!!

I've been thinking about this thread. I've bought and sold a bunch of sets over the last 10 years. I can't think of a single regret. I've had a couple of ceramic sets that I really liked (skulls and zombies). The problem was I don't like ceramic chips. The Samurai Palace chips are fantastic. I couldn't get over the ones having three shades of blue.

So, nope, no regrets. I look at it like this. I lose a pot. The money is no longer mine. I sell some chips, their no longer mine. No since in looking back.

Now I just have to figure out to to acquire some ones and fives from the eventual chip room sale :) lol
