I never got into coin in center chips before I bought the Condado Plaza chips in september of 2016. Wish I would have known back in the early days what I know now. I missed out on a lot of stuff. But I've made up for lost time in the last 7 years. I have about 32 sets now, some of those are small, another 17 partials I am always keeping an eye out for. Most are US casinos, but I have a weakness for Caribbean sets. My GOAT set, that I am dreaming of acquiring is Palm Hotel P. R. 1988, hotel never opened, but the chips are out there. I've heard of a set of them, so if you have a set and you want to unload them someday, yeah you know me.... here is a link to chip guide for reference http://chipguide.themogh.org/cg_chip2.php?id=PRSJP2&v=2682386317

I supposedly gave (yes, GAVE) my set of Mayaguez, P.R. CIC chips to a friend 12 years ago. We recently started playing as a group again and on his turn to host he used cheap Welcome To Vegas chips. I questioned him about the set I may have left there and he said I didn't leave a set, I gave him a set but they didnt have coin centers. I had 3 sets: Mirage Springs, Crystal Park & the Mayaguez CIC's. I pushed him to show me but he said they were in the attic and buried yadda yadda yadda. I loved those chips and NEVER would have given them to him. Left them at his house? Yes. But not "given" to him. It's been almost a year now and he's yet to make an effort to "dig" them out. If and when he does, if they're not the Mayaguez chips I guess they're gone for good and chalk it up to twelve years gone and mixed in with a divorce and multiple moves. If they are my CIC's, I don't know if he'd offer them back since he's obviously not using them and I certainly would. If it came down to it I'd probably even offer to buy them off him.

What different style CIC sets do you have @ovo? BJ V6/V7, BG, Matsui? Pics are needed! :cool

I’ve been toying with the idea of replacing coins on some BJ V6 chips with custom ones, though that wouldn’t be a cheap project. With V6 the coins are outside the plastic and seem to be just connected to each other (with V7 the coins are molded inside the plastic). The pictured chip had a particularly poor connection and the coins just fell out, not the standard obviously.

I love my CIC set, unfortunately I gotten into poker collection way too late.

Initially I gotten my CIC set in year 2022 as a small STT T5 tourney set and subsequently added on twice to convert it into a cash set that can handle any stake from $1/2 up to $2/$5

not sure, but I guess I have mostly v6 and a few v7, I'm just not sure. Mostly Bud Jones, but I have some older that I guess might be Burt

keep me informed on your custom quest, I need some customs too

There was a day when CiC chips were among the hottest chips to be found. not nearly so much any more.

Here is one of lucky finds I got on eBay. Someone listed this set but only posted a picture of a single red chip. The set was sold largely uncontested - maybe for a single bid. That wouldn't happen these days. You vultures wouldn't le something like that slip by.

the good old days -=- DrStrange

I kept these CIC’s that I used in my BJ S2’s as our Hundos. Having a set would be pretty sweet

Ah, yes -- I remember those. Those only slid by because I (and others) didn't like the brass inserts.

But I made up for it with the silver-colored Americanas! :cool Still love those black hundos...
