What's the deal with Faded Spade? (2 Viewers)

I got the 3.0 red/black. Used them at our last event and was pretty happy with them. Would rather have a little thicker card with my group, some of the thinner cards have bent pretty easily and ruined.

I’ve played with the FS 3.0 on two occasions. I like the pips but don’t care at all for the feel/shuffle of these cards…

I own a sample setup from almost every card manufacturer out there and FS are the only cards I outright do not recommend. They are terrible. What’s worse is the douche bag marketing by the owner. Since the beginning of the company is was a fake it till you make it campaign. Give away tons of product to get your cards on TV with the perception “everyone” is using them. No AC casino I’ve been in uses them.

The one time I played a whole night with FS (probably v1) I remember that my hands actually started to hurt after handling and shuffling over and over.
The cards are very thick. I had this problem at first but made a slight adjustment and don't have any problems now.

Cards are thick but not unbearably so, durable, solid design and texture... love these cards, can't understand hate for them at all. So far most of the complaints I am seeing here I think are just indicative of most cards that haven't been broken in yet. ‍*Shrug*

It’s the fact that they split and customer service is shitty from what I’ve heard. I actually like the cards but this is a non starter issue for me. https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/card-replacement-swap-meet.104430/#post-2157092

I've been using the FS for 4 months now and I love them. I actually think they are better than Copags, I love how thick they are, and they shuffle better than Copags.
Their design is also my favorite, especially in the 4 color deck, the black king is just beautiful.

Why the hate?

Some versions split and break, some warp, and some people just hate everything new.

For me they are way too stiff. The artwork is also no to my taste. They are the only card made that I absolutely can’t stand shuffling. The original boxes are horrible and not thought out. Durability issues also came to light and their CS is not good

But the other reason I don’t like them is their marketing. Very much a fake it and hope you make it. The original marketing campaigns positioned them as if everyone was using these cards and everyone in the know knew about them. But this was obviously nonsense. They also must have had a lot of investors and cash because the product placement was insane. They were dumping money and product to get TV exposure. The owner also seemed very pompous and full of shit.

I’m probably just a bitch but they get way too difficult to shuffle for an extended period of time. I’ve never dealt with that issue with other sets of cards. I like faded spades, just not as much as other cards. They’re a bit too bulky for me.
