Does anyone know what's this chip? Is it a Mirage $1?

Is it yellow or white?

Yes, I've watching the pictures of @Potsie1 they seem almond.

It might be too dark for Almond. I think the Tropicana $1 is Almond. But since I don't have a colour sample set on hand I can't confirm.

If you wash these, a lot of the darker yellow color quite literally comes out of the chip. After you've done that, they're almond. Whoever mixed and dyed this batch of clay did a shit job.

I think @BGinGA had the correct assessment of the color variations and surmised its machining oil from the manufacturing process. I believe hes correct as it comes off if you wash them and only appears on uncirculated chips. After washing they are all almond.
