What is everyone's favorite poker set? (2 Viewers)

Agree that super large cash sets don't nake a lot of sense
Mehhhhhhhh…this hobby doesn’t make sense.

Same as any other hobby. Some guys have 5-6 cars. Doesn’t make sense but it’s common. It’s what you love and you do it. Function or form have nothing to do with it. Definitely not about sense. Lol

Let’s not mislead the new guy. A 700 chip set is not “a small piece.” It’s actually an indulgent size, since most PCFers, if forced to be honest, would agree that a 600 chip set is plenty for a single cash table for most typical home games.
These 1,000 - 2,000 piece sets that people like to show off here - a lot of wonderful things can be said about them, but they’re excessive.
So true, but, you know, m0ar is better, right?!

I’ve convinced myself that 820 chips (120x fracs, 300x 1, 300x 5, 80x 20/25, 20x 100) is the absolute minimum qty I could possibly work with.

But as you wrote, I could get by with far less for the majority of my games, especially if I put the higher denominations into full use (I never get $100s into play).

Still, putting together huge sets is fun and they sure look good in photos :ninja:

Started making a microstakes set....and added on a barrel of $100s just in case. JUST IN CASE!

Totally agree. I have to make an effort to unplug from these shenanigans and do a real chip/value count of my chip set. I then compare it to the cash we had on the table in our last 0.25/0.25 game. Needless to say, my barrels of $500s and $100s will never see the felt, but I got them in my rack just the same. Nothing logical about that!

I have many favorites... but when I joined this forum I saw a few Folks that made casino used cash chips into Tourney sets... I absolutely love the idea that the $1k and up are oversized.

I realized quickly that setting a goal of building such a set would take a ton on money... but when I won the Golden ticket a few years back I realized I could atleast get part of my monster set at cost... unfortunately that set started like this

And hey! It was a playable little breakdown for 20 players... didn't cost me a fortune (about $5k for that much)...

But the color combinations were just amazing... knowing there were only 740 of the secondary $1ks it felt pretty special... but I needed to be content as prices instantly shot through the roof... I failed... someone hit me up and offered a second rack of the Claw $1ks for $3,500... so so much, but again one of a kind... the kind of set that people see and say ohh "that's Ben8257s IGs" so I made the deal and begun expanding the rest of the set...

Over time it felt like a stale mate as chips continued to fall into their forever homes... nervous I would never get to finish the moster set I had amassed somehow.

BUT PCF is awesome and dreams do come true sometimes... sitting here this morning waiting on 2 barrels of $100s that have plagued me for a couple years leaving the set looking like

Ans yes still waiting on those 2 barrels but added another rack of $500s this week and finished my 5th rack of Blaze $1ks (350 secondary/150 primary) and wanted to take a family pic!

I have another rack of $5ks on lock down... just need the funds to grab them. Would love one more rack of Sec $25s so I could cover 50 players... but not necessary, yes it has now cost me very close to the price of my new civic in the driveway... the cost of some builds could make the average person sick! But you guys understand! Lol

I have played this set 3 times over the last couple months with 3 different groups and absolutely NOTHING BUT COMPLIMENTS from chippers and poker players alike!

I don't really care if the value falls playing them... or if over time they aren't worth 50% of what I paid. I'm happy checking that spot off on my list!

Casino Used Cash Chips in a tourney breakdown with IHC $1ks and UP... CHECK!!!
